I often find myself wanting to select an NPC and examine their inventory, when I am debugging.

However, quite often, when I use the console, I cannot select any NPCS -- I can only select the surrounding "house".

If I keep trying, I usually eventually succeed. But the critical event I was trying to debug might be long over by then.

Also, each console invocation where I could not select an NPC gets a message which reads: "GetVATSValue 6, 15 -> 0.00" in the console, when I can start selecting NPCS again, with my mouse. (So whenI could not select anything, my console was normal, and then when things start working again, I might have seven of those lines, because I tried going into the console, and was unsuccessfully attempting to select NPCs something like seven times.)

Has anyone ever seen anything like this elsewhere? (What is going on here? What am I doing wrong?)

I've seen completely random 'GetVATSValue...' things pop up before. No idea what's causing them.
