Evil Character Strategy Advice Please

Post » Sun Sep 20, 2009 12:52 am

Hi all, am going to be starting my 3rd playthrough soon and have decided I should try a game on the darkside of Karma, and I have some questions:

Any quests I have to do before becoming evil or can only do as good?

What if I shoot Factions like the brotherhood and outcasts, are the effects permanent?

When can remove Three Dog :flamethrower:

Any thing else you can think of that I should know before going down the evil route?

Thanks in advance :foodndrink:

Am playing 360 GOTY.

Yeah.. Being wealthy doesn't hurt. Medic and repair skills are very useful. (Repair being a great way to get cash and moar medic being a great way to be efficient and use less $ on healths. There's really no right or wrong way, but I would advise against blowing megaton up.. it might just be me, but removing an awesome town for a tower full of stuck up rich people isn't worth it.. the only thing they have there is a quest that can be taken without living there anyways. Oh.. and Jericho is fairly tough.... for an NPC. You can kick his ass easily with melee or any quick gun, but it's still better than pissing off the wrong people alone... don't ge t me wrong, pissing in their coffee alone was awesome, but it's better if you can laugh with a guy who will then blow the living crap out of the dude's body gaurds before he can say "GET THEM!".. of course.. i haven't delved too deep into the game yet, but... that's my take on it. you probably already knew all of this though

To be truly evil, you must blow the town! Use it, loot it, wring it dry; then watch it go boom. Anything less and you’re just a poser!

Get the Mr Sandman perk and murder everyone in Megaton before blowing it up. Hours of fun.

When can remove Three Dog :flamethrower:

How fast can you run to GNR? ;)

Enslave everyone you see, especially that stupid Merc in Moira's shop, kill everyone in Megaton and take everything from the homes and shops then blow the joint and enjoy the view from your lovely Tenpenny suite. Ghouls aren't such bad neighbors. You should let the ferals into the tower and watch them tear the place apart. Your stuff will be safe in your suite and you can loot all of the bodies and shops during the chaos. One tip: You won't be able to access your suite during the takeover so overencumber yourself with all of the loot and take it outside and drop it. If you stash it inside a mailbox or other container inside the tower it will disappear.

Have fun!

1. Human flesh is delicious.

2. The sight of Megaton going up in a mushroom cloud is breathtaking.

3. If a tree in Oasis burns, does it scream?

Don't forget to have merchants and scavengers repair your stuff before you kill them and loot their bodies! Woo!

I leave Megaton standing these days, because my cannibal girl finds it inconvenient to have to walk around the radioactive cloud...
But looting the tower pays great, the show is spectacular, and you get this nifty mask, too!

Good times.

At the very beginning, go over to the "abandoned" ranch house in Springdale and blow away Silver. You can't use her house to live in, more's the pity, but you can get 300 desperately-needed caps and you can loot her house. Don't forget stealing also lowers your Karma, so rob as many people as you can. I like burglarizing the rooms in Tenpenny Tower; just go in, shut the door so you can't be seen and help yourself. :whistling:

Go see your friends in Paradise Falls, they have a nice toy and a lucrative contract for you :)

If you don't like ghouls you could try turning off Cerberus inhibator in Underworld and perhaps give Mr Lopez a helping hand in Rivet City

Not tried sandman on Megaton before that sounds like evil fun!

Well, doing better than I have done previously, decided I needed the house in megaton along with it's merchants but went through the Power of the Atom far enough to have Burke shoot Simms then I shot Burke, so got all their stuff, robbed the armoury, 1st time I've done that. Going to run through 3 dog when I have done his quest.

Have to say it is incredibly hard to try to do bad things, petty crime, ok, and I might do the odd murder, you know, those NPCs that are just rude to you out in the wastes for no reason. Oh well will keep at it, it's only a game, how can it be so difficult

Blowing up Megaton and ghoulifying Tenpenny Tower will reduce those settlements' usefulness to you. But if you want to, I'd suggest choosing one. You can get bad karma by killing the ghouls, too.

Best way to lower your karma without losing any useful settlements is to become a slaver. get the mesmetron, and enslave any extraneous character you see fit. Raiders will do fine, as will wastelanders or various citizens. You'll get very rich very fast

Of the "evil" followers, Jericho is the better, his Chinese rifle is quite accurate and deals heavy damage. Or, you can get Charon for free by killilng some innocent ghoul for Azruhkal. Either will do very well for you. Neither holds a candle to Fawkes, but you can get them sooner. If you're going slave-hunting, have your follower wait at a distance, or they might kill your slave. You lose the karma, but don't get the caps.

Don't kill too many wandering merchants, they're your best options for repairing weapons, especially unique ones. Crazy Wolfgang especially: upgrade him to max and keep him breathing.

And yes, you can enslave Bryan or Bumble, if you have the stomach for doing such vile things to a couple of defenseless kids. Your karma will go through the floor.
