It happened to me! My game froze when it was auto-saving and corrupted my data. My last save was a bout 2 hours before that too.

Unless the game freezes while your saving, no it doesn't have the corruption issue.

It probably has to do with how the 360/PC/PS3 manages saved data. Different operating systems will save data and manage it in different ways. The PC and the 360 probably have similar operating systems. Obviously the ps3 saves files in such a way they aren't vulnerable to the bug, either because it does the job better or the necessary changes to make the game run on the ps3 eliminate the bug.

Very very close from what I understand. I have even heard that originally they were simply going to paste a watered down windows shell into the XBOX line. It shouldn't come as a surprise though...Micro$oft is who makes it after all. That and that the XBOX line is created using substandard PC parts. Just sayin...

Personaly, I have not yet had a save file corrupted in FO:NV on my BC 60g PS3. Admittedly I am very careful about my save practices though.

That isn't the save corruption issue there talking about. Imagine EVERY save for FONV gets corrupted!
Autosaves being corrupted exists on every game with an autosave feature.

hasnt happened to me.

does it just randomly happen or does it inevitably happen after a while? you should back up your saves regularly. about a year ago my hard drive got corrupted or something and i lost all of my saves (including a ~150 hour oblivion save) so now whenever i turn off my ps3 i backup everything i did since i turned it on onto a flash drive.

those "locked" saves really grind my gears though.

I don't know about other people but we have had TONS of issues with this game. The first round of play we went at it ended up having corrupted saved data on it so we couldn't load the game at all so we had to delete all the saved game data on it and restart from the beginning. The second round of play we went at ended up having more corrupted data on it and ended up sending our entire PS3 system into a restore loop because the disk drive was corrupted with data. After resetting the entire PS3 to factory settings and losing ALL our saved data it seems to be working (for now). I talked to Sony to try and resolve our PS3 issues and they said they've have dozens of people call in with system failures/corrupt data after buying/playing this game so I definitely think that PS3 users are also having corrupt data issues as well as XBox and PC users.

:o

It corrupted ALL the data on your PS3 ?!!?!??!?! And a SONY staff member actually stated "It's because of Fallout 3: New Vegas." or words to that effect? I've never had any issues of this magnitude, or even the save issue originally referred to. All I've had is the random ones, like E.D. / Rex going berserk; a Super Gecko flying 100 feet to bite Veronica; death cam showing a rad-scorpion falling into the earth, then below the map, and then into this bizzare world of vertical lines.

I've never had the game crash while saving either, but I also turned the save game feature off on most of the options.

I am still stunned that a SONY staff member would actually single out a product, even though it might be warranted, like that. The liability is insanely large to do so; they must have had some real issues.
