OWB at Level 2

So I'm attempting to do Old World Blues right out of Goodsprings. I ran there and talked to the Think Tank and already I'm level 4. I've managed to make it to the Y-17 Medical Facility. It seems that every encounter I get into is a fight for my life. Barely able to scraqe by Lobotomites, but those robots in the medical facility are soundly kicking my ass. Any advice? My main gun right now is the Varmint Rifle. :cryvaultboy:

My advice: Start a new game. You're gonna have to be Chuck Norris to beat OWB that early in the game. Wait till you get attacked by a pack of Nightstalkers and those Trauma Harness'. You're screwed.

I got through OWB starting at Lvl 2 once. My advice? Stick to it. Show those robots the grit in your heart. That, and drop the Varmint Rifle. Give yourself a crash course in Energy Weapons using the Sonic Emitter to hunt random monsters outside. The Emitter, almost regardless of your EW skill, 1HKO's Lobotomites and inflicts EMP damage to robots. Sonic Emitter & Proton Axe are going to be your only friends for a long, dark time. Don't bother with long-range combat-most of your enemies are tougher, deal more damage, and are more accurate than you.

Avoid actually entering any of the MQ locations until Lvl 8-spend that time hunting down the Sink upgrades. Save often, take everything not nailed down, and don't be afraid to run all the way home. Avoid the West side of the Crater until Lvl 12 & avoid the Forbidden Zone until Lvl 14.

Talk to the Doctors & complete their quests for any additional smidgeon of XP you can get. A lot of them can also provide items. Stockpile absolutely everything you find, particular consumables & medicine.

This is a challenging time for your character. He/She is going to have to react to the enviroment, you can't force your ways of doing things upon the Big Empty at this level. But should your character have the eye of the tiger, regardless of statistical "rambo-ness", he/she will emerge from this hellhole a Lvl 21 badass capable of surviving anything thrown his/her way.
