Open Steam when you are online, then click File -> Go Offline. Steam will then restart in offline mode.

EDIT: Solid_Moose had it right, you click on 'Steam', not 'File'. My bad.

Open steam.

Click "Steam" in the top left.

Click "Go Offline..."

Hi,

Not sure if you're aware, but you can just run Skyrim without the Steam Client even running.

If you create a direct shortcut to your TESV.exe (Mines in: D:/STEAM/SteamApps/Common/Skyrim) and launch that, Skyrim runs just fine and doesn't launch the Steam Client like the normal Launcher would.

As my settings are already in place, I now run Skyrim this way as it's one less thing running...not that I had any issues with Skyrim while the Steam Client was in Online or Offline mode I'll add.

I know I'll need to use the Steam Client to apply future updates, but I can do that when *I* chose.

Cheers,

Scoob.

This is true.

I disabled Steam altogether using msconfig several days ago and haven't looked back. Game still runs just fine, however I don't know how viable an option this is for console users. (I don't play on console so I don't know if it's possible)

Unimportant. Steam doesn't have anything to do with consoles.

Be careful though, you have to be online to activate offline mode. Meaning if your internet goes down and you aren't in offline mode, you can't log in period.

On a side note qwert I still hate you no matter what forum you're on. If you've never used dwight from the office as your avatar disregard that.
