Quest question - Give Vilka's sword to Eorlund

Post » Thu Dec 01, 2011 4:48 pm

All,

When I have a quest like this, how am I supposed to find this guy?

When I go in my quest log, I cannot toggle it on and when I hit 'Show on Map', it doesn't really show me

Thx

Eorlund can be found in Skyforge, which is located behind Jorrvaskr. Climb the steps to the left and he should be up there.

How do I know that besides searching the internet though? Isn't there a way to click on that quest and it will show up on the compass?

How come when I click 'Show on Map' it doesn't direct me to that location?

Thx

I'm thinking it's a bug for that quest. Has to be. Usually it works as you said, just click "show on map" and the arrow should lead you right to him. That quest must be bugged though. I haven't come across any other quests so far where I haven't been able to find an NPC on the map though, so it's probably a once in a blue moon weird type of bug.

Is that quest active? It's a side quest so if you have a Main quest active it will show that quest on the map even if you click on a side quest (in my experience). So make sure one of the Main quests isn't checked...I don't want to assume you did this already, so I hope it helps. :)

^^ Oh yeah, make sure the quest is active. It should have an arrow next to it if it is. If not press the button to make it active...

OH, I think I see my mistake now

There is the quest to the left which is activiated before there are the sub quests, right?

Just uncheck every Quest except the one you're focusing on. Let's say you're using XBox. You press Start and there's your list of Quests. I'll use letters since I don't know all the quests.

A
>B
C
>D

You want to do Quest B, but the map is showing Quest D. So highlight Quest D and press the A button. When you press B and return to the game your navigation bar should have the quest arrow for the quest you have checked (Quest B). I believe I'm explaining this right, someone correct or clarify if I'm wrong.

I figured out my problem

I had a quest group selected and thus couldn't unclick a subquest

I didn't realize you could unclick the gorup quest thing

Thx
