Than on PC? not by much as it's an older engine, but higher end PCs will definitely run the game more smoothly and with less hicups.

consoles are the same, and pc has mods and visual stuff. thats about it. the game itself is the same on all 3, it just depends on what kinda pc you have.

Depends on PC specifications. If you have a good PC and can play on higher settings, then yes, PC will look better.

Both consoles versions should look the same.

The PC will have sharper graphics and faster loading times provided your PC can handle it. And of course the PC version will have the GECK and mods.

A PC can support a much higher resolution than any console can, and from what I understand, consoles are stuck with no AA and AF. A PC, meanwhile, has the hardware to handle all three of these things.

The consoles will by no means look bad, but they'll be less visually beautiful than NV on a modern gaming PC with all the settings turned up.

And then in a few months we'll have all manner of graphics mods, like high resolution textures and the like which will completely blow away the consoles and bring weaker PCs to their knees.

you won't notice the difference unless you put them side by side, but it's things like object LOD that are the most pronounced, as well as resolution.

Of course the game will look better on a high end PC that can play on high settings and resolutions. Other than this, there aren't any differences between the 3 versions.

The PC version can receive high resolution texture mods and graphical advancements if people feel up to making them.
PCs can be upgraded over time to increase their capabilities.
If you buy off of Steam, you don't have to worry about a disk drive eating the DVD.

My bias should be transparent.

The PC version has the capability to look better than the console versions on top of loading considerably faster. Of course it all comes down to how powerful your machine is. On top of this the PC version has mods and the developer console (which is invaluable).

I disagree. It isnt too hard to spot the difference between max settings and medium(ish) settings. If someone sneaked onto my computer and lowered my Fallout 3 visual settings to medium I would notice instantly.

Higher res
Better Graphics ( aka Higher graphic settings )
AA,AF,etc ( Fallout needed AA badly...jaggies begone! )
Loading speeds
Mods
etc...

^
I've played FO 3 on mediumish ( e6700,8800GTX etc) settings and totally maxed ( 920@3.4,5970 ) and there is a difference...a big one.

Now I play it totally maxed 19x12,8 AA,15AF,V-sync on,Ultra settings, High res mods on a Dell 24" Ultra Sharp...couldn't think of going to lower settings now.

This will be locked soon.

Getting the PC copy. Can't run it at max quality but can run it better than the PS3 and Xbox.

Compared to a basic non-gaming computer the console will look better (on a 720p+ tv) but compared to a good gaming rig the console won't.

The current gen of consoles are low cost and give you good gaming hardware for the price but the PC wins if you have the money.

An example of how a good gaming PC plays Fallout better than a console:

On my PC I run the game at 1080p with max settings on for everything with the option to go 2560x1600 is I wasn't so poor. This means out of the box it looks better than the console. I downloaded the Fallout 3 high def texture packs making walls, doors, roads and other things look super detailed. I downloaded other mods to increase the visual detail of the game further then tweaked the .ini settings to greatly increase the quality of shadows, trees, grass, water and everything else I could find. I increased the viewable distance by a large margin so I can see detailed cities, trees, landscapes and buildings that are far off in the distance. I also use a great audio card with a good set of AKG headphones which beats any factory TV audio to shame, that means I hear more sounds too. The end result is the game feels real on my gaming PC, more than on my flat mate's console.

I am personally getting the PC version for the mods because the community that made Fallout 3 mods is brilliant. As far as I know the system is basically the same so we should have a lot of mods popping up fairly fast, although I'll finish the game mod free first I think. Graphically like people have said can be smoother on he PC depending on your graphics card.
