Alright. I don't like NCR, I don't like the Legion. And for SOME reason Mr. House scares me and I think Yesman is a pansy. What I am looking for is for someone with great power that isn't one of these, to fight back. BoS. What I want is for after the lockdown is lifted, and either elders are in office, Brotherhood patrols go out. And they all have either miniguns, missile launchers, grenade miniguns, or fatmans. They patrol around, kill NCR AND The Legion. When it comes to Hoover, Just make BoS kill everybody.(ifthat) But I want to see BoS in power again. You look at the BoS and you think "Oh my god these guys will [censored] me up..." Let them enforce that!

If you weren't a Super Metroid fan, I would say you are nuts. The Brotherhood simply doesn't have the numbers to really take over.

Add vertibirds to swoop in and drop them off. There were too many in DC from what I recall.

The nubcakery that is the East Coast Brotherhood cut off communications with the West Coast. So essentialy: fat chance.

Actually, taking a quick look at the wiki entry for the East Coast Brotherhood, it was actually the West Coast that decided to cut off communication (Or at least material/personnel support), but the East Coast Brotherhood is still recognized as part of it, Lyons still a leader, etc. Which doesn't help the odds of the East Coast Brotherhood. It actually probably makes it less likely.

Alright. You seem to be knowledged in the fake history that is fallout, Lemme ask you this, Is it possible that other Brotherhood chapters could help the Mojave Chapter?

Also, why can't we add outcasts from the East coast. Make some history "East Brotherhood Loyalists Rejoin To The West!" Throw some outcasts in there.

I'm not entirely sure how a BoS takeover related to fairness? I mean, they are basically jerks.

The main/Californian chapter is going through pretty much the same situation as the Mojave chapter, a slow decline into defeat due to facing overwhelming numbers from the NCR, so they can hardly send support over. The Midwestern Brotherhood were considered to have gone rogue by the rest of the Brotherhood, and might not actually exist depending on whether or not Fallout Tactics is canon or not. The Outcasts are 1. too focused on fulfilling their original mission in DC, 2. are a very small group who won't bolster the Mojave chapter's forces by much, and 3. have no way to get across the country in a reasonable amount of time.

Same applies to Legion and NCR too, though. The Courier is just ridiculously overpowered ^_^

i would say that the problem there is more that the npc's are just way too stupid to be able to defend themselves properly. Pretty sure that mostly the same rules regarding level, perks and equipment apply to npc's.

Don't forget that the NCR also has Power Armored soldiers in their ranks and the NCR Rangers.
The Brotherhood chapter in the Mojave could never take over the Dam and hold it against both NCR and the Legion. :P

Heck, they got their butt kicked by the NCR at Helios One. They are weak and dying slowly in their bunker.

Your character, whether the Lone wanderer, the Vault dweller, or the Courier, is that 'one in a million' guy or gal...the one legends are written about...

You are, for all intents and purposes a Beowulf, or a Chucullain, or a Samson...or a Hannibal...etc etc etc. The point is your physical and mental abilities are so far above those of normal men that the difference between the two is like YOU being awake, and everyone else being heavily drugged out on anti-psychotics.

Basically, you are 'the sleeper that has awakened', while everyone else is CONSUMED by the details of their horrific, mundane, daily struggle...YOU can see, and act on, the things that are above or below the threshold of other peoples consciousness...this gives you an edge in everything from decision making (with the long view in mind), to the advantage of milliseconds foresight in combat.

Furthermore, the combat-ware on your Pip-boy, even outside of vats, provides massive amounts of information instantaneously, from threat assessment (identifying the target as a raider, instead of a caravan guard, for instance) to mapping to medical treatment. Even most guys in Power armor don't have access to such sophisticated systems, since their tech is falling apart, where as yours is built to last. The pip boy is perhaps the FINEST example of pre-war tech, bar none. Like the man said 'You could drop a bomb on one and it would survive'.

Lastly, your character has that...certain something the Hannibal's and Beowulf's of the world share...that last gasp refusal to lie down and die...that extra hand grasping the threads of life that gives you the ability to keep on fighting even in the face of horrific life threatening injury...you shrug off a shotgun blast to the chest, crawl back up off the ground, and keep firing. Few people have that kind of concentration and perserverance.

Basically...you are a demigod walking among troglodytes. Enjoy the rush.

In the real world...how would an encounter with the BoS play out? You double tap one helmetless cretin in the cranium and 12 guys suddenly zoom in and circle around you and basically phaser your butt to death en-masse, with coordinated firing.

Yeah, don't put too much stock in video game AI. :)
