Does anyone know if there is a way to get the playstation 3 patch for fallout new vegas from a pc download? Internet for my ps3 is not an option where i live. good game but there should be a way to update it without connecting to the ps3 store.... any info would be awesome. thanks.

all games(unless manufactured after the patch) will need an Internet connection to download a patch. As far as I know, no game has ever done differently and never will.

Therefore, patches are not available off of a computer, there are patches on the Bethesda website but there designed for the PC.

I believe Sony allows firmware updates to be downloaded for their console from storage devices with the data on it, but patches have to go through a certification process with Sony before they make it available, which is probably why you can't just download it from anywhere.

The best you can do is try and take your system over to a friends house that has Internet and download the patch. You'll need a PSN account.

oh, and just so you know, I've read multiple times that the update only made it worse for console players.

thank you for the information. why don't we live in a world where stuff like this could be easy? now im really dissapointed that my collectors edition of new vegas is and will continue to be a stinker. guess i have more time to get an internet hookup before/if they release a newer patch that wont make it a bummer to play. or i can just sniff glues until skyrim comes out...

no problem, I know how you feel about the collectors edition. I got it too with the collector's guide, and had to sell it cuz the game is so [censored] up. what a waste of money.

Don't know if the following talk is frowned upon here but....

If you jailbreak your PS3 then yes, you have the ability to download patches on your PC, put them on a USB stick, and install them manually on your PS3.
