I got imaptient waiting from Skyrim so i got oblivion off Steam (as my disc had broken) and loaded in my old saves. The last charicter i created has only just started my main quest line after doing just abot everything else so i decided to finish it off. I have just got back from closing the oblivion gate outside Kvatch, i went a sold some good as my invantory was nealy full, then came back and talked to the guard and got the quest to clear the courtyard, i went in a cleared the courtyard outside the chapel. At this point everything seems fine,i went back to the guard to get the next stage to go into the chapel, i got this stage all the guards went in but when i try it wont let me in, the icon flashes for a second and nothing happens, ive tried reloading from outside and starteg the courtyard bit again, ive tried restarting the game and my computer but it still happens
Has anyone else had this issue? and if so how did you solve it? I would quite like to solve this and complete the quest line before skyrim arrives.

Are you trying to enter the chapel itself or its undercroft? There are two doors by which to enter either one. Try both doors, or are they both locked?
If you are trying to enter the Chapel Undercroft, don't forget to talk http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-npc-Berich_Inian.jpg first during the quest to retake Kvatch.

Im trying to enter the chapel iteself and i have tried both sets of doors and neither will work

Have you talked to Savlian Matius after clearing the entry way to the chapel?

If you are on PC open up the console and type in

coc KvatchChapelOfAkatosh

yes i am on a PC and that does take me into the chapel, i can then do the quest bits and i can go out of the doors but i then have to use the console command again as it will still not let me in. But this is still a solution and will let me continue so thaks for the help

No problem.

You need to speak to Berich Inian, he then comes with you and leads you through the undercroft.If he dies on the way, all you do is simply take the key from him and continue on your own.
