Fallout 3 GotY - Games for Windows LIVE won't recognize inst

Post » Sat Dec 03, 2011 7:49 am

Hey guys, just as the title suggests, signing in LIVE from the in-game menu prompts a message in the background that reads "Loading extra content, please wait..." Of course the message never goes away (except when navigating back to the main menu) and the downloads section shows new content available to be purchased. In game I've yet to receive the DLC prompts... Is there way to make LIVE recognize the installed DLC or is GotY not dependent on LIVE? What worries me is still no in-game prompts and yes, I have them all ticked upon launching the game.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you actually launch the game to make sure they are there? Could be another bug with GFWL, all in all I would just disable it, too much trouble with mods and such.

Well, I launch the game and started exploring the world to get the prompts and they never appear. Is that what you meant?

The GotY edition installs the DLC to your data folder but doesn't actually activate them, meaning that you have to enable them with the launcher. Open up the Fallout 3 launcher, click Data Files, and check off all of the DLC. You shouldn't have to do anything with GFWL.

I did activate them in the Launcher... I think I won't sign in to LIVE this time, it's probably screwing things up. Thanks for all your help.
