HI,

The last year I am playing Oblivion but not daily, so it might happen that I did not play for e.g. two weeks or so. From the beginning on I got svcked into the side quest. "Recently" I started the main quest and closed the gate to Oblivion at Kvatch. I noticed in my inventory that the amulet of kings is missing! So I think I lost or sold it somewhere :pinch: ....... Of course checked some save games but it seems to be realy long since the last time I had it. Is there a way to get it back or find out where I left it? It is fine if I can summon it with a code so I can go on.

The worst part of this. I had some searches on the internet and did find any useful link. Does this mean I am the only one in this world who got this done?????? NOOOOOO, please don't let it be.

You can′t have sold or lost it as it is marked essential. The only way to get rid of it is to give it to the monk Jauffre. Check your quest journal.

You probably didn't notice handing it over to the monk Jauffre, as mirocu said. If you skip through the dialogue then you could easily miss him saying he'd take it off your hands.

I don't think you can get out of the dialog with Jauffre until you've handed over the amulet.

You can't. The game specifically made sure that only Jauffre would be allowed to remove the amulet from your inventory. No one else can.

And if you have been to Kvatch, you have given it over.

And most people don't go to Kvatch early. As no side quests take you there.

He got there simply by exploring and decided to help glosing the gate. Finding the heir however is not his affairs

If the amulet is not in your inventory, then you must have visited Jauffre and he took it (the way he is supposed to if you visit him).

As far as finding Kvatch, it is easy to be drawn into independent of Jauffre. My character was simply traveling from Skingrad to the western cities for her Mages Guild recommendations. Approaching Kvatch, she was accosted by an Altmer with a horrific tale. She went to check with the only survivor of her guild (Sigrid) who was not in a position to give a guild recommendation and urged her to move on to Anvil. Moved by the devastation, she went up the hill. There, she was told by Captain Savlian Matius that it was dangerous for civilians there and she should leave. She was captivated by his heroism, but did as he asked. She also knew someday she would return to help the brave man free his city.

Unless it is a bug you already gave it to Jauffre and forgot. Quest items can't be taken out of your inventory.
