Pink Ghoul Hands.

Post » Mon Sep 21, 2009 7:09 pm

Okay, so downloaded the GECk and quickly made ghouls and raiders playable. Here's the problem, my ghoul character has pink hands, and I don't know why.

So here's what I need. Is ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated usable with New Vegas? Or as an alternative, how can I set up a txt. file to do it manually, what would it need to say etc.

I'd really appreciate help here, those pink hands are really annoying me.

Uhh, you might want to re-think things before you get handed a warning...

Just saying.

Ah yes, removed that.

Anyway, does anyone know how to fix these pink hands of mine? I remember having a similar problem in FO3 but I can't remember how I fixed it.

F:NV was built on the exact same engine as FO3, so in theory, ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated should work. Just copy the BSA from a separate location and register it in your F:NV INI (should be the sArchiveList entry, unless that was changed for whatever reason) as the first BSA in the series.

Ah, see I don't have that anymore, my old PC is dead and so I lost everything related to FO3 almost a year ago, never bothered to re-install it.

EDIT: Found the manual install version of the mod, gonna try getting that to work now.

EDIT2: Same thing happens to raider hands. I haven't met any NPC raiders or ghouls yet but I suspect their hands are glowing pink as well.

Okay, I know I shouldn't bump, but this is driving me crazy. I can't for the life of me find any way to fix the glowing pink hands on ghouls and raiders, is there anyone who knows how to fix this or at least knows what makes hands turn pink rather than their appropriate texture?

I'll bump this as well since I seem to have the same problem.

It turns out I managed to fix it, I had some slightly modified ghoul textures I was going to use for a mod, but never did. When i tried to replace the default textures with those I had screwed up the file path, putting the files in the right folder sorted it, it was a clumsy mistake.

Oh.
I'll see if I can fix it by reinstalling Lings mod then.

I'm about to do a fresh install and see if I can replicate the problem. I really wish some version of FOMM was ready so I could put up a fomod to solve some of the issues I know some are having.

Indeed.

Seems like the Pink Ghoul hands are a problem with the Ling mod.
I copy pasted everything where it should be just to be on the safe side again, and they're still Pink.

If I can replicate the issue I will put up a quick and dirty update that removes raider and ghoul playable races.
