Enviroments

I've always appreciated how gameplay is king in Bungie games. They could go the Gears(Gears of war) route and have small environments and top notch graphics but they aim for the best gameplay experience possible.

with the few videos I have seen so far it seems like tight confined corridors which is understandable because the use of parkour seems like a vital feature in this game, but one of my favorite things is big enviroments like a battlefield game where it's more spread out and seems more tactical, I can't get into a Modern Warfare game because the spaces seem so small and every inch of the map is predictable and becomes nuance - I'm not a huge FPS fan at all so my knowledge about them is limited to few PC ones and Console ones

Do you guys think their maps will various sizes?

They're trying to discourage campers and snipers, so I guess the maps will be pretty small. Sorry about that.

I agree, I'm really hoping for a nice balance. But with 8 v. 8 it's not likely your going BF type maps. And honestly, with only 16 people that could really hinder gameplay because you'll spend all day running between people and objectives.

Something about this game is making me think fo it similar to if "Unreal Tournament" had babies with "Team Fortress 2"
As the gameplay seems to sound somewhat similar, except the fact they've added parkour to it.

How so I mean UT3 is a in your face combat game but they had entire game modes devoted to large open battles such as warfare and VCTF. Also I think UT3 is alot I mean alot more fast paced which isn't always a good thing. Brink seems to be in between UT3 and TF2 in terms of how fast combat is. TF2 can be very slow at some points.

Also where in UT3 and TF2 can you customize your weapons, I haven't seen the option to add a scope or silencer to the huntsman yet.

The maps will have a decent size, but the main battle is focused on a smaller part of it. The battlefield advances towards an "end objective".

makes sense, if they can make it as good as it is in BF:BC2, with new spawn points and restricted areas. that'll avoid ppl gettin lost and wandering off.

I think it will be big and cramped, so its a large-ish level, but its also small rooms and corridors, not many large spaces sorry. Unless airport becomes a level...

It would be ridiculous if it's not. All SP levels are also Co-op levels are also MP levels because it's all the same. It won't be playable only if they would take it out for some reason.

you do NOT want BF sized maps for an 8v8 game....

you just don't/

The use of vertical space in Brink should make the tighter levels feel MUCH more open then your typical COD match, so have no fear there.
