Cs Texture Problem

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:59 am

Time and time again I have noticed this problem in the oblivion CS. When a cell has more than 3 or 4 textures clashing, a large blank sqaure is created that just shows the default land texture. Or another problem related to having 3 or 4 textures clashing in a cell is that the land editor will not allow you to change textures. Sometimes when I try to paint a new texture onto the landscape, nothing shows. Sometimes it paints the default texture even if my texture is acquired in the land editor. Is there a fix for this?

Not sure if it's any use to you, but I believe the game has a limit of 16 different landscape textures per cell, trying to exceed it gives similar problems AFAIK. Don't quote me on it though.

Aren't those viewable by pressing the i button when in the render window and the landscape editor enabled?

The limit is not 16 textures per cell but 8 textures per quad. Where quad is one quarter of a cell (a cell has 4 "quads").

So if painted textures aren't visible or other texture is painted instead, then as mentioned, all needed to fix it is to press I, and then in particular quad (that one with the list of more than 8 textures) delete the texture that has the lowest percentage of use and which is not necessary for our needs.

Thank you everyone. That annoying bug has been fixed by pressing "i" as mentioned. This topic can be locked by moderators.
