Uhh.. Hmm. A couple things in the trailer.

Just so we're clear here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0. You know, the one that made me cry with joy when I saw it, and shake my knees in anticipation for five months or something. That one.

Anyway, has anyone figured out how to do the sliding cliff stop of awesome yet? The part where he sprints at the edge and puts his arm out to skitter to a stop? I don't know how that was done.

Also, has anyone managed to get a good swipe at a dragon as it flies overhead as in the fight scene? I've tried, but no matter the sword I use I can't seem to reach the dragon or hit it right. I certainly don't get a clean, clear hit, and I don't see blood splatter everywhere.

Lastly, some of the character poses, like dramatically rising to his knees after being hit with the "YOL" fire shout. Does our character ever do that? I haven't seen it. Or the part after he swings his sword at the dragon belly, he kind of doubles over and huffs for a few seconds. Does our character ever do that either?

Don't read me wrong, I'm not saying Bethesda ever did anything deceptive, I'm just curious how we might be able to recreate some of this stuff in our own games.

I think you can't do some of this.

You do realize that entire thing was 100% scripted? You cant actually do any of it verbatim.

I doubt you can do -any- of those things in game.

You can't, it's a trailer, you're not supposed to be able to do everything you see.

Pre-rendered cutscene.

I doubt you were serious though.

No, I was serious. Bethesda announced that the whole trailer was not scripted, and was all done in engine. I suspect that all of these actions are possible in the game and that it just takes some fancy skills or luck to figure out how.

I'm just curious if anyone's done any of them.

I'm pretty sure the things you mention aren't taken from actual gameplay.

They could have been done in-engine using special unique scripts and actions. Say...give the character the skidding to a stop animation and running it in the trailor but taking it out of the final game.
