Everyone wants this and that. I think things are fine.

Anyone here actually play EQ back in it's vanilla state? There were no maps, no easy interfaces for quests, when you died you dropped your loot, some classes were extremely off-balanced, etc. I mean I could literally go on and on about how "horrible" the game was. To this day, I see more people complaining that they miss oldschool EQ, and even oldschool WoW.

What I think some people fail to recognize is that Morrowind in it's vanilla console state had huge exploits, glitches. and other crap that "ruined" the game. Nowadays, game developers strive to make everything user friendly and personally stated- it's made everyone a baby. I totally blame WoW for this, and I think a lot of other people do as well. They totally conformed to everyone's wishes and now look at the game.

People cry about everything not being perfect. Does anyone ACTUALLY step back for a moment and realize what a feat this game is? I mean how many hours of exploring different ideas did the developers have to put into it to make it what it is?

Having said that, I think there is an obvious need to fix glitches and I am not opposed to change, I just wonder how many of you think some people are being total babies?

The past few days there have been some complaints from people that just want babied.
1. The map svcks, too many clouds! No roads! No real idea where I am going even though there are ICONS and a COMPASS.
2. Destruction is weak, I can't exploit the living crap out of it like melee can. This game svckS!
3. The UI isn't a list, it should be. What's with the originality?! This game bloooows.
4. Horses try to fight everything. Totally unrealistic. Then if they don't die, THEY RUN?! BLASPHEMY!
5. (INSERT SKILL) is too hard to level! Make it easier! God!
6. The default keys on PC are stoopid. Alt to run, tab to open inv? GOD PAY ATTENTION! I DON'T WANT TO SET MY KEYS MANUALLY!
7. Followers svck in this compared to other games. They should be able to kill all my stuffs no problemz, and nevar diez, evar. Period.
8. The game is short! I mean come on!? Main story only THAT LONG?! WHO CAREZ BOUTS SIDE QUESTS N STUFF.

Seriously, I understand bugs and certain issues. I'm not saying these are all terrible reasons either. I just don't think anyone really realizes how good of a game Skyrim really is.

TLDR: Go back ten years, play a game that didn't have a tenth of Skyrim's features, and call it fun- because it was.

ps. I know feedback is important and I am not trying to push people away from doing so. I just feel the need to say some peoples reasons are ridiculous. Anyone else agree?

Yeah these are all just niggles which can be more or less entirely tweaked by the player to suit once the construction set and scripting is out.

Skyrim is an astonishing achievement of scale over polish and I think, as a basis for future expansions and the kind of vast labour of love overhaul mods we got for oblivion, its a better prospect than anemic Oblivion was.

I have my gripes as much as the next guy, but really Skyrim is epic and the gift of the mod tools to the community is one of the last amazing 'free' things in gaming as a hobby..

oh don't worry through every iteration of Elder Scrolls games and most games in general there will always be entitled whiners. It happened with morrowind, with oblivion with Skyrim and it will happen with the next one and so on. Don't let these people ruin your enjoyment of the game though, just blot them out and let them get on with it it will die out when the mods start coming. Then start up again with each iteration of DLC. Bleh. The game is amazing, it has flaws but they are FAR outweighed by the good stuff.

I think even the flaws make it a whole too though, or even the lack of features.

I mean I would rather spend 4 hours of prepping water for a raid than summoning a table in WoW. Why? Because you can't actually feel proud of something that you haven't really invested into. 4 hours is a lot of investment.

I realize that video games have become universal to people, and not everyone has time for that. I think Skyrim is an amazing game because I can spend 2 hours in a dungeon screwing with bodies, finding loot, or just exploring in some cases. If I don't have time, I get on, slay a couple dragons, log off. I mean there really aren't any limits.

I think the company did an amazing job at setting the bar on this one, and I just wanted to do my part in expressing my gratuity from Bethesda.

Forget the baby crying crap, Skyrim is great as it is. Man up or play WoW! :)

OP, you lack an understanding of how forums work.

People don't come to the forums because they are having an amazing time playing the game and they see no flaws(they're too busy playing the game!), people come to the forums because they find a glitch, or have a gripe with a certain aspect of the game.

That doesn't mean they don't love the game, that probably means they love it more, as they want to see it improved.

If you had asked me 2 days before release what I thought people would say on the forums about the game I could give you a pretty accurate answer.

Forums like this are populated by people whose sole obsession becomes this one video game for like a year before release. They build it up in their minds, and when the actual thing is short of their idiotic expectations, they whine and moan.

I see nothing wrong with Skyrim because I am not LOOKING for what's wrong with it. I'm just trying to enjoy the damn game. If you're trying to enjoy an artistic masterpiece, you don't make it a huge deal to notice the smudged corner where the pain was applied unevenly.

It's a classic case of making the PERFECT the enemy of the GOOD. All these... excuse the expression... "[censored]" have been building this edifice in their minds, expecting perfection. Now we all know 2 things - perfection is impossible, and you can't please everyone.

So Bethesda does what we all do in life - you please as many people as you can, and you strive for perfection knowing you'll never get there.

Skyrim is an amazing game. My second favorite game after Oblivion. AND I COULD NOT CARE LESS WHICH SCHOOL OF MAGIC IS UNDERPOWERED.
