Awesome Hope for DLC Here

Post » Sun Dec 04, 2011 4:53 pm

Howard says he doesn’t know if the downloadable content will be limited to new levels, or if the developer might use it to overhaul the game’s core features and mechanics, too.

Edit: Hit enter accidentally.

Subtitle: I'm thinking Throwing Weapons, Spears, and all that other Awesome Stuff you can think of!

I realise the game isn't out yet. What kind of stuff do you want to see in DLC, now that we know anything is possible?

sailing (i want to go on the sea of ghosts)

a new land to wrap it all up in (maybe an island in the sea of ghosts is discoverd and you sail there for whatever reason)

Sailing/Pirates - HELL YES.

Pretty difficult to program though, I'd imagine. Still, would be fantastic.

I can already be a ninja sort of though.

I just remember the boat quest in Oblivion (where you sleep in the inn) and thinking how cool it would've been to be able to join them.

These ideas are all well and fine, but how are we going to protect our horses?

I want to go to another daedric princes world. I was thinking either Hercine or Clavicus Vile. I just want to meet his dog, lol. If we're talking about mechanic overhaul's then I'd maybe like to see a need for a levitation in one of the realms. Add a little depth to the realm/area

I can't take thread seriously with that avatar, it's so distracting  but I would like expansions to factions so there are always more quests, and maybe a return to Shivering Isles which would have changed completely as they were really random. I would also like a dlc relating to vampires, maybe a castle you can purchase suited for vampires that has a clan you can join, and a coven of witches that teach you dark magic :)

PC exclusive DLC that gets rid of the walled off cities and makes them one with the world like Morrowind.

... only Beth is way too lazy to push the capabilities of the industry-leading platform.

Oh well. Open Cities mod in 4.5 months?

-My DLC wishlist:
1 - HC mode (returns equipment degradation, need for eating/drinking/sleeping, etc.).
2 - 3 new skills (Unarmed - a renamed version of H2H - for Warrior branch, Unarmored for Thief branch, and I still have no idea what could fit as additional skill for Mage branch - all ideas are more than welcome).
3 - Being able to see whole body from 1st person and removal of forced 3rd person during finishers, horse riding, getting knocked down, etc.
4 - Proper werebeasts (both werewolves and werebears).
5 - Mainland of Morrowind.
6 - http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sword-singer

First 4 are a must-have DLCs imo, other two are just a sweet bonus.

Still, if they are also thinking about making some bigger changes to the game if needed, then I definitely want throwing weapons in!
Crossbows and spears are cool and would have nothing against them being in the game, but throwing weapons would be by far the best due to new equip system.
Also, dual-wield blocking would also be great.

Edit:
Hmmm... I have a pretty nice idea how a overhaul of skills could work out.
Might make a thread about it, but I'll need to play the game first.

1. More transport options (e.g. ships), and the option to travel on these, and existing means of transport, in real-time -- perhaps with the option to 'wait' to speed up the trip.

2. More companions/followers, with more diversity in class, gender, and race. There's only one Nightblade-type companion in the game right now, for instance, with most others being warriors or archers, with a few pure mages. Need more: spellswords, agents, witch-hunters, necromancers, etc.

3. A companion command wheel, a-la New Vegas.

4. Vampire and werewolf questlines, a-la Morrowind/Bloodmoon.

5. More hairstyles, and the availability of dreadlocks for other races than the Redguard :P

6. Additional, more powerful food recipes. I know the developers wanted to balance food creation so that it didn't outdo alchemy, but it might be nice to have a few more recipes with super-rare/hard to obtain ingredients which provide special bonuses of some sort.

7. Unarmed... 'nuff said.

7. ... basically, more of all the great stuff this game already offers :P

As for what new adventures might be offered up, I'm sure that whatever Bethesda is cooking up is going to be more interesting than anything I could suggest, but I sure would like to get a glimpse of Morrowind...
