Mods with big escort missions like "Head of State"

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 2:46 am

One of my favorite parts of the FO3 "Head of State" quest was escorting Hannibal & his group all over the map until they reached the Monument. I just got a rush out of exploring the wasteland (& metro tunnels) with this large group while having to stay alert and defend from threats.

Are there any mods that focus on escorting missions like these? Preferably where you are assisting more than just 1 or 2 people?

People like escort missions? Hell I just fast traveled there the minute I got them, same thing when I found Dad. Maybe that's just me but I hate playing babysitter sometimes.

Well the appeal for me was just the feeling of traveling the wastes with a large group. I agree it might not be as fun if it is just one person, but when you've 3 or more armed folks with bhramins ,etc. I enjoyed the tactical challenge of scouting ahead and trying to keep everyone alive. It's also interesting watching your followers pick up better weapons as the journey progresses.

That was an escort mission?!?
HOLY COW!
The slaves said something about meeting me at the Monument so I just went a brief loot mission, finished that and waited for them at the Monument half the night until they showed up (and began to whale away at the nearby wild dogs).

I have to restore an old save and check that out...

Yeah. You can choose to fast travel and skip it all (as many do). OR you can actually follow them as they walk to the monument and protect them. It's a LOONG journey - but totally fun. You even go through some metro tunnels.

There are escort missions included in http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1087029-relz-dynamic-missions/page__p__15846320__fromsearch__1&#entry15846320 but you only escort one person at a time.

Really? We never got that far. The Enclave encampment up the road from the Temple wiped out everyone :( I promised I'd never escort anyone ever again after that. Not even Dad. He's worse, actually.
It helps if the people being escorted have a lot of confidence and are well equipped, a bit like the Caravans' armed escort (in FWE).

But Ghouls posted some good links. I'll check those out, too :)

Dad did pretty good in my game. I had a hard time keeping up.
I learned a few things --I did not have to stop and fight every hostile encountered.
Dad, from what I remember, just ran past most of them-- raiders, molerats all that junk firing parting shots with his .32
