Does Dual Weapon work?

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 6:29 am

I was thinking of going Archer and Dual Weapon, but I thought I recalled some talk about DW not working right? Is that true?

Also, on the PC do you just right click and left click mouse bottons to do the attacks? Does anything special happen if you click both at the same time?

Thanks.

They work fine, and yes both at once causes you to do a scissors attack where you cross your weapons over an enemy and pull them apart for added damage but a slower follow up attack, holding down both attack buttons causes the scissors opening up into a multihit combo, holding down both buttons, while in sneak, with the dagger x15 perk, using daggers, on an enemy that doesn't see it coming and turns slowly, is a guaranteed kill on the strongest of enemies. For some scale I dropped a Graybeard's health to zero that way while experimenting.

The good thing about TES series games is that all weapons work just they have their pros and cons.

The other posters are talking about effectiveness, I am pretty sure you are meaning is it implemented right? Answer no. - since the UI does not allow you to quickslot or favorite two things at once or left hand favorite items.

If you were dual weilding and you go to a spell, you are gonna go back to the inventory to pull out that weapon again, or at least the favorites list. Happens every time to my dismay. If you have dual wield out and you go to a bow quickslot you will go back to the 2 weapons setup, but any spell will throw you off completely.

Hopefully this will be patched, the quickest way to deal with it now is to favorite everything and hit q EVERY time you need to redo the dual weapons. NOT fun.

If you want to pair spells with dual-wielding, I'm pretty sure dual Bound Swords works fine, allowing you to hotkey the bound spell.
