I'd like a DLC that lasts a while, has exploration and preferably some challenge to it. So more like Point Lookout than Anchorage. I don't think I'll be getting OWB because I'd like to save the wacky, funny one for last. Or should I get the weapons pack and some stuff on Team Fortress 2?

I think you should probably get honest hearts then, but my recommendation is old world blues, and lonesome road last.

Dead Money and Lonesome Road don't really have much exploration in, which leaves Honest Hearts and Old World Blues.

Honest Hearts is shorter and sweeter, whereas Old World Blues has a lot to sink your teeth into. If you're dead set on getting Old World Blues last (or at least second-to-last, 'cause Lonesome Road is very much a finale), then you've whittled it down to Honest Hearts by your own criteria, but I think Old World Blues is the one that sounds like precisely what you're looking for in a DLC. Which, arguably, is all the more reason to leave it till last.



Dead Money and Lonesome Road, incidentally, are a survival-horror type storyline and a traditional action game, respectively. Dead Money allows you to explore, but it doesn't allow you to get comfortable - restricts your movement, doesn't allow you to sleep, etc. Lonesome Road is good Fallout, but it's very linear. More like a rollercoaster - thrilling and well-paced, but you're not allowed off the tracks.

Honest Hearts is pretty and has some good exploration elements, but was a bit short imo.

Old World Blues is bigger, more challenging, and is pretty funny at times.

Lonesome Road is my favorite mainly for the story, but I wouldn't recomend for your only Fo NV DLC.

You forgot Dead Money's has seriously amazing Post DLC rewards.

Unless you're an Energy Weapons user Honest Hearts would be your best choice. It doesn't have as many dungeons and locations as Old World Blues but it has far superior story telling in it's content. Also if you like rolling alts you can do it at a much lower level (I've finished it with the 90 Speech good guy ending as low as Level 9) and come out with some of the best gear in the game.

If you weren't a fan of Operation Anchorage I'd save Lonesome Road for last as it's a very tight zone to zone progressions with little chance for exploration beyond finding a few semi-hidden locations. I still haven't finished Dead Money as, even when I've turned off Hard Core mode because of the smog, I just find it tedious.

Yeah that and the storyline are the only reasons I put up with that DLC. Also the Holorifle.

Honest hearts, Old world blues

Honest Hearts has a ton of exploration. It will take you a good while to find all the caves to unlock the story of the Survivalist. The story is top notch and gritty, and the loot is second to none.

Well, excpet for in the Police Station, but yea, Dead Money was not as easy as the main game and you couldn't just go running in and blasting everything in sight with your super powered armor and weapons like you were used to. I enjoyed the challenge.

wait people still spend money on TF2?

Probably OWB as it adds some new traits and well "Decent" perks.. Don't forget about the other DLC thats like 320 and 120 MSP on Xbox Live. Anyway, you can always read up on them all and see what has the best stuff on The Fallout Wiki.
