How many people have suffered DLC error, and are unable to l

Post » Mon Dec 05, 2011 10:16 pm

All i can do is hope to god that they come out with an update and i can play my files agian as i have spent 33hrs well into the game and to find that literally 2 minutes after i logged off to come back and find that i cant load my files. this is pissing me off. hopefully an update will fix this without harming my data and i can pick it right up again, and i know that the files arent corrupt as they would appear so in my hardrive as corrupted file so i say hold onto the saves and wait it out. (as hard as that may be)

I found a solution is to delete the system cache. you can play any saved game before the error. The New New patch is killed every save i have close to when it was added. The down side to this solution is you can not update/go on line with your game in the xbox360 or the bug will start over.

If you do not do this you might as well throw the game away because of the game freeze/corrupt.

I still love fallout.

I still like the in the train tunnel glitch/bug close to the boomer i can fall threw the steps and be send to the other side of the tunnel. I am sad the cassidy rose glitch/bug the girl really just vanished on me.

Yeah it looks like an original problem with the game so then I have to ask If they even did a decent job at beta testing. What was their process I wonder but I can come to the conclusion that this game never should have been released. If it was any other product it would have been refunded with a full refund. We have to start holding video game companies accountable and I don't just mean not purchasing a DLC.

It must be. I have a plain vanilla game. No "bonus" DLC, and the 360 is not connected to the internet (I only connect it to DL patches, then disconnect. I havent connected since I got this game.) So my copy is as-is from the original disk with no patches of any kind. I installed to the 360 HD.

I got the bug during the Come fly with me quest. If I load the game in the basemant while talking to Harlan it loads fine. I saved right before pressing the launch button, that save is corrupt. Somewhere in between that short period the bug popped up. Everything after that is bad. I didn't pick up the space suit either, so much for that theory.

The original FO3 game gave me problems too. In the "Waters of life" quest everytime I tried to complete the quest in the rotunda after talking to your father the game would freeze when going through a door. Because of this I could never complete the main quest in that game either.

They need a new engine. The Fallout engine they use is a piece of bug infested junk. It don't work. I think they need to recall this thing. They may say it is "isolated" but I doubt it. They should know that not everyone with the bug will sign up and post here or call them with the issue.

Hey I heard there is going to be new DLC available! Oh wait my original game I bought doesn't even work, never mind...

i have not posted anything about this game (yet) but i have got the dlc bug and i payed full price. i have read threw every post about these bugs and the time its taken to make this patch is to long so my theory is that they have our money now so every person that complains about this bug is jst showin them tht they bought the game and cant play it so this is makin them more happy and makin they money fueled grin bigger also they dont care if we never play this game again or throw it away cs they allready have our money. total disgrace had FO3 and loved it expected alot more from them but jst got a whole lot worse.

I wonder just how many ppl will purchase DLC when they can't even play their original copy of New Vegas because of the DLC bug, that is not related to DLC.
RAW DEAL indeed, thats the 3rd 30+hour char down, plus i was one of the stupid consumers who pre-ordered the collectors edition. I guess the joke was on me for wanting to support my fav game title since fallout 1. Maybe i wouldn't have had this problem if i had just gone with Fable 3 or one of the other high roller new releases... Too bad though it is a fun game.

I just got half of my save game files corrupted by the DLC error. Sadly, my most recent working one is 20 hours ago and I do NOT want to waste those 20 hours. And I've managed to isolate the problem to Vault 3. When I go in there, I get the corruption. So now I have to put the game aside and wait for a patch.

This SHOULD not have come to this. It's a great game but I have never encountered so many bugs in one game. I've been patient and tried workarounds and reloaded many hours because of bugs (one example is the crashing on the Strip bug) and even my patience has worn off. This will be the first time where I really believe that the company should compensate the customers with some free content. Seriously, I did NOT want to be THAT guy who demands things like that but this is one very buggy game and the first time where I can no longer continue playing because of game breaking bugs.

I wonder if there could be a class action lawsuit for this?

It is one thing in the beginning if they didn't know of the problem. But now they KNOW that the product is severely broken. They KNOW it does not work correctly and yet it is still on shelves and they continue to sell it. The game should be recalled as it is known that it can be unplayable for a good amount of users. It is like if a car has a known defect where with a good amount of owners the engine siezes up after 50 miles and the car is undriveable, but yet the continue to sell it without fixing the problem.

They are now willingly selling a broken product and they know it. Obviously ALL software has bugs. But if the bug is severe enough to the point that it is killing saves and it is not able to be completed I think that is enough to deem the product unsaleable.

The game should be pulled untill it is fixed. If they can't fix it a total refund should be given.

It's like I said in the other thread:

This problem is very similar to, but obviously not the same, as the problem with the Witch Hunt DLC for Bioware's Dragon Age Origins.

When that DLC first came out Morrigan would not properly respond to the player's character based on choices made in the main campaign. In addition to that, the game would not make a proper end-game save, which would prevent players from carrying over their full completed game to Dragon Age II.

While not everyone experienced this problem, BioWare was well aware of the problem and said they would fix it. They posted daily updates on their forums and even said that they were encountering some problems with the patch and that it would be delayed. And once it was released, guess what? They updated everyone on the forum.

This is a prime example of the path a developer should take when addressing problems with it's products.

While I still will probably buy future Bethesda games, they definitely won't be at launch and may even be second hand at GameStop. As for DLCs, I would still be undecided on that. I would again probably wait two or three months after the release to give Bethesda enough time to patch any bugs that are likely to be in the DLCs.

I'm a victim. Completed the Zombie Fly Away mission, went to Vault 3 and slaughtered everone. Got my chainsaw, and was ready to romp and....nothing. My name is pboy8 and I wasted 66 hours, 24 minutes on this piece of garbage.

It was fun while it lasted.

i put my copy away hoping after 2 weeks this very stupid DLC corrupt save problem would have been fixed but it seems it has not

time to trade in while its still worth something :shakehead:

i truly loved this game its whats games should be like, over the past 2 years i have been disgusted at what games have become(cheesy moneymakers) i thought fallout NV and F1 2010 would give me some hope but i was wrong.

i think i have lost all faith in games now FNV was the last nail in the coffin.......
