For those complaining about lack of Daedra in Skyrim

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 6:06 am

If you read the loading screens or what people are saying you'll hear that groups formed after the Oblivion Crisis to combat any and all Daedra Worship. One of those people being the Vigilants of Stendar [or something like that]. So with that in mind it makes perfect sense that Daedra are not prevelant in Skyrim as their were in Oblvion, the use of Daedra has all but been squished.

Also I think why people are so used to Daedra is because of going into Oblivion, if you think about it other then a few caves their actually were no Daedra in the world of Cyrodiil.

Also, Skyrim, like Cyrodiil is a heavy "Imperial Cult" province. So not many of its people worship the Daedric Princes, whereas in say..Morrowind Daedra were worshipped all over and the "Divines" had little or no place there so it wasn't shocking to see a random Dremora or Clanfear just milling around a Daedric Shrine.

As for the absense of other "Oblivion" creatures you have to think of Skyrims climate, certain creatures wouldn't live in this type of area. Bears? Yes Dreugh? Not likely.

I'm not the biggest TES lore person but it seems to me if people want Oblivion or Morrowind creatures they should play those games.

Well I would imagine it would be pretty straightforward as to why there are no daedric creatures running about; the gates to Oblivion were supposedly permanently closed some 200 years ago. That being said, there are plenty of Daedric Princes/Lords' shrines to visit, and Molag Bal's is frickin' scary as hell lol.

There were a whole lot of daedra in MW, no idea why they would be so absent from Skyrim, they never needed Oblivion gates to be here before.

1.) We want Oblivion and Morrowind creatures in Skyrim. That was a bad argument, are you 12?

2.) Not caring about lore on the official forums means your posts matter not.

I really want to see them with the awesome updated models and texture of Skyrim. Just an obscure little quest or something.

The OP makes every sense. the dark elves of vvardenfell literally worship daedra while the humans seem to worship aedra. Still, it would be nice to see some daedric practice here and there created by the dunmer moving west of their province. Not that all dunmer are cultists, it's just that they seem to have a greater fascination.

Semi spoiler:

Spoiler
You get to see a Daedra shrine and weapon and talk to one in a quest, it's clear they have a presence among shady circles.
