Daggerfall in DOSbox -> choppy sound

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 12:55 am

Hi all,

Just a few days ago, I got my hands on a real copy of Daggerfall (not the download) :celebration: , so I decided to play it again. However, since some time now, I use Ubuntu mostly instead of Vista. After following the guide on this forum, I have Daggerfall set up totally correctly, besides one thing: the sound
I have sound, but the problem is: it's choppy. In the test it sound something like "re.. well th.. n.gh., f.. to...orrow" etc. The same happens to the music (also ingame). I was wondering if anyone knows what's wrong? I tried all sound devices already, with different setups. Also changed the cycles from auto to 25000 in the config, but neither helpen.

Hope someone can help, because I don't want to have to reboot to windows everytime I want to play daggerfall :(

Have you tried playing around with the sound config stuff in your dosbox configuration file? There are some suggestions http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=919741.

Thank you very much, setting the hz to 44100 instead of 22050 fixed it :). Now I can finally play daggerfall on Ubuntu :)
