Spouse leaving house?

Just a quick question. If I marry someone and I put them in my house in the same city they are from will they continue to follow their normal schedule or will they always be at home?

They are prisoners at your house. make them stay there, they open a shop and you get tons of gold.

I'm just upset my husband doesn't give me a discount. I started torturing him, but he's a tough nut to crack :P
