Why doesn't the PS3 have the "DLC" corruption issue?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 12:32 pm

I noticed that while the PS3 has the same quest bugs they don't get corrupted saves.

Why is that? A secret plot from Sony (probably not) ? Or is it the way the Xbox saves the game or is the memory different somehow causing it?

Good question. PC gets the corruption problem though so the 360 is not alone.
Anyway all platforms get their fair share of bugs. Just need to wait for a patch.

The PC has (or had, not sure if it was fixed) a save file corruption glitch, but it was an entirely different issue. It was not the "missing DLC" error that caused the corruption.

We really don't know the true cause of the DLC glitch so it's not possible to say why PS3 or PC didn't get it.

Maybe it would kind of make sense to get that version if you have a PS3 too. I just hate the video output of the PS3 because there is no VGA out. The TV always scales the PS3 image causing softness and edge ringing while the 360 with the PC-input and 1:1 pixel mapping is much sharper (like a PC monitor). Oh well I guess that would be better than nothing. I already returned my 360 version so at least I have options if they never do a working patch.

Does the PS3 version really not have the corrupted save issue? I just assumed that everyone got it. If that's true then I'm very tempted to trade mine for the PS3 version.

Check the PS3 problem section I see no mention of corrupted saves, just the quest bugs everyone has.

Looks like the 360 has the only unplayable version. I guess that is why they are in no hurry to fix it.

PS3 version is no walk in the park from what I've gathered from the PS3 board. Freezing seems to be a big topic over there.

I'm playing it safe and waiting until the patch comes out...hopefully it'll be here in time for Christmas!
