No Gore?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 2:14 am

This might sound strange, but based on some of the videos I've seen online of gameplay, there should be more gore in my game, but I haven't seen any of it.

Is this something that doesn't come until later or is there just something wrong with my game? Or am I misunderstanding the role of gore (such as beheading/missing limbs, killing blows, etc)?

I know it's random, but I thought I would at least check.

I've done several killing blows with my sword going through an enemy's chest. But that's about it. Oh and a couple throat slashes from behind.... But no beheadings yet, but they are in the game.

I don't think there are missing limbs but missing heads is a perk :D Other than that i think finishing melee blows like impalement happen more often if the fight end with on of your power attacks.

My orc warlord begs to differ.

His most common finishing move is smashing somebody in the face with the pommel of his axe, and while they're recoiling, decapitate them. The fountain of blood is......... FABULOUS!

Backstabs with blood flying - done
Throat slitting with blood flying - done
Impaling my target from the front with my blade with blood flying - done
Slamming my axe down into someones head with blood flying - done
Chopping a mans head off with blood flying - done

Crap man you see a dude beheaded in the opening scenes....

You should've been able to see the dude get is head cut off in the opening scenes, right after you create your character.

Other than that, there's quite a bit of blood in general, plus cool finishing moves that happen randomly during fights. You aren't able to behead enemies yourself until you take the perk around level 50 in 1-Handed or 2-Handed Weapons.

Taking off someones head with a battle axe doesn't count as gore?

I don't doubt you guys as I know I've seen it in videos -- I just haven't seen any (save for the beheading at the beginning) through the rest of the game. And I've had moments were my character has gone for a decapitation but the guy didn't lose his head!

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

There is a perk in the 1h tree which enables you to decapitate an enemy. Other than that there are countless finishing moves

I was pretty happy Bethesda didn't go with the cartoony squibs like they did when they developed their version of Fallout. That was silly.

Get a 1H. Get the Behead perk. Profit. Also there is plenty of blood and finishing moves.

This was actually the Fallout series' trademark long before Bethesda came along.

Would have liked dismemberment in general, it's great to shoot someones arm off in fallout, an axe to the shoulder would work miracles too.

As I improve my one handed blade skill, the finishing moves with my dual swords are becoming more and more brutal!! :spotted owl:
