After watching this a couple time, and trying to come up with some kind of critique that didn't sound like I was being a complete [censored] I think I've got some ideas for ya.
First, go and watch some montages and pay attention to the edits. See where they fade, break, or change according to the action in the video and the music.
Only keep the most essential video when you are editing. Everything else tends to lead the watcher to being bored.
Only add video effects (slow down, speed up, discolors, etc) when it is necessary to help grab the attention of the viewer. When everything has an effect on it, it doesn't carry the weight it should.
And finally, go watch some more directors and montages. Writers read, directors watch.
