New Spin-off

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:06 am

I think it would be fun to have a new spin-off game, like Redguard or Battlespire. Sort of like Fallout: New Vegas, which was developed by another studio..
Perhaps something in style with Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (or whatever its called)
That was a fun action game, and it would be entertaining to play while we wait for a potential new Elder SCrolls game .,

I'll have you know Bethesda almost went bankrupt because those games were a flop, but regardless no I would not.

They do have a huge fan base now though. If it could be done right I would like to see another Redguard type game, where you would take on the role of a particular person. Maybe an Argonian in Argonia? That way we would be able to experience the Marshes to the fullest extent. Just a thought.

If they could team up with Relic to make an RTS set in Tamriel, that would be cool.

I don't think they'll be making a "quick" adventure game, RTS, MMORPG or anything like that as it may soil TES good name as durable games.

A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCAu814nh84, would fit right into the world.
Basically, you could sail around Tamriel; smuggle goods, recruit crew and train them, buy new ships and upgrade them...

As for the rest it would be basically a regular TES sandbox, with a main-quest, Deadra, factions and all that good stuff.
The main difference would be the map system. Basically you would have one world map of Tamriel, where you can go to and explore, say 100 different locations ranging from harbors to pirate-dens, deserted islands, etc...

I think it would work as a spin-off, or stand-alone series set in the same world.

Also it would be great to throw a new light on the franchise, would be great experience/exercise for both the fans and developers.
They shouldn't be afraid to do something different, as Oblivion, FO3, Skyrim is all basically Morrowind in a new coat.
But nothing "too" different that will start as a great idea and then end up svcking, like most of Molyneux games. :P

I wouldn't mind seeing a non-RPG spin-off by some other company, as long as the main series stays with Beth.

TES: Talos.

You start out as young Nord/Breton with a lot of ambition.

You win when you reach heaven.

I'm hoping they release lycanthropy as part of a DLC. A Bloodmoon sort of deal.

Cyrus in search of the Eye of Argonia? YES SIR! Honestly, thats the only way I would like to see Argonia done. I think a few off shots would be a nice breather honestly.

I'd like to see a turn based strategy game (like the Total War series) set in Tamriel.

Absolutely, i don't want to wait another 5 years for the next game in the series. A spin off would fit nicely, by Bethesda or not. I think the Elder Scrolls is succesful enough to be able to take that risk.

Only because they were on the losing side of the tech wars of the 90s stone age. The games themselves are, while unusual for people expecting a Morrowind/Oblivion style game, still great stories that work well in the series, especially Redguard.

I hold, and will continue to hold, that if they wanted to do more spin-offs, break into the handheld market, break into the Nintendo market, and break into the 3D market, either a sequel to or remake of Redguard on the 3DS would be the best option.
