Will the "major" modders be supporting F:NV?

I think the idea of "major modders" and "minor modders" is frankly a little ridiculous.

Usually, yeah.

From my perspective there's 1 'major modder' whose lack of presence would be catastrophic, and that's Elminster.

@Tarrant
And don't forget the guys & girls from FOSE and NIFTools. They are essential too. :bowdown: Great thanks to all of them.

I'm by no means "major" by anyone's standards (and anyone saying one modder is more important than another should be on the business end of a gauss rifle) but I went ahead and released Fellout NV anyway.

Most of the mods I used in 3 have come back, been ported or have equivalents in development and that's really all that matters. I wouldn't care if DarN didn't bother with his UI mod (he is doing), so long as SOMEONE, anyone made a good UI. It doesn't matter who makes the mods, so long as someone does.

This is more true than most people will ever realize. I for one am glad that I've given a little back to him, we would be in a world of crap if xEdit went away! Hopefully people will endorse xEdit a little more this time, he gets hundreds of thousands of downloads and not enough love shown for the effort IMHO.

I think the idea of "major modders" and "minor modders" is frankly a little ridiculous. All of us start from scratch with each new game anyway, so putting some of us on a pedestal is a little excessive to some and insulting to others. It's like kids in a playpen bragging about how made the biggest tower with their lego set - the point is to have fun, and ego-building just detracts from that. What attracts me to modding other than the sheer joy of building is the friendly, co-operative atmosphere I remember as far back as Morrowind. :shrug:

Well spoken, I could not agree more! :goodjob: Being one of the new guys on the block still, I try to pay reverence to those who are clearly more "elder" in the community as I see that as polite, and have even recently felt their scorn when I wasn't "knowledgable enough". If people can keep it real and stick to the fun versus competing all the time, this place would be even more pleasant than it already is. :)

Cheers!

Whoa. havent seen this scorn myself. i see most people here as quite ready to share knowledge. and that goes double for the "major" and "elder" modders here. (though i still havent gotten an answer to my requests for instruction on how to make skill affect weapon spread...hint hint :D)

i kinda agree tho i think competition is important too, without it there would be much fewer developement ;)
it just has to stay friendly competition, like i mentioned when FO3 came out... help each other, do your best, aim for perfection and everyone will profit... well zenimax the most >.<
