Usually, yeah.
From my perspective there's 1 'major modder' whose lack of presence would be catastrophic, and that's Elminster.
This is more true than most people will ever realize. I for one am glad that I've given a little back to him, we would be in a world of crap if xEdit went away! Hopefully people will endorse xEdit a little more this time, he gets hundreds of thousands of downloads and not enough love shown for the effort IMHO.
I think the idea of "major modders" and "minor modders" is frankly a little ridiculous. All of us start from scratch with each new game anyway, so putting some of us on a pedestal is a little excessive to some and insulting to others. It's like kids in a playpen bragging about how made the biggest tower with their lego set - the point is to have fun, and ego-building just detracts from that. What attracts me to modding other than the sheer joy of building is the friendly, co-operative atmosphere I remember as far back as Morrowind.
Well spoken, I could not agree more! :goodjob: Being one of the new guys on the block still, I try to pay reverence to those who are clearly more "elder" in the community as I see that as polite, and have even recently felt their scorn when I wasn't "knowledgable enough". If people can keep it real and stick to the fun versus competing all the time, this place would be even more pleasant than it already is.
Cheers!
