As an Elder Scrolls anniversary I think yall should go back and redo every Elder Scrolls with the new skyrim engine and put each separate game on a different disk. For example skyrim on one. Morrowind on another. Valenwood. Etc... so every Single game would be like skyrim... BUT!!! You could switch between games while still saving your character stats and using those in a different province. So if I was a wood elf assassin with 75 archery and 90 sneak that would carry over to the next province if I wantedt to leave skyrim and go to morrowind and so forth... Hehehe if this actually was done.... *in gollum/smeagol voice* I WANT A FREE COPY!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS MY IDEA!!! MINE!! MY OWN!!

This is a horrible idea. Would you rather have a remake of Morrowind with the same content, just a different engine for TES VI? Or would you rather have a new province like Summerset Isle with brand new content?

They can redo the old ones and make summerset isles as well.

It would take them a good while to remake Arena, Daggerfall, or Morrowind, and in that time wasted adding slightly better graphics and playabilty for an older TES game, they could deliver brand new content. The choice here is clear.

Ha, remaking Arena with Skyrim's engine would be ridiculous. That game was insanely huge (area-wise).

I hate it when I cringe while I read something.

I hated what I felt while reading this.

Yeah, I'd hate to know how many DVDs Arena and Daggerfall would take up. And given how much people complain about the fast travel system in Oblivion/Skyrim, just wait until they have to trek 20 miles between locations :D

I guaran-damn-tee you that if they did do it. You would buy and play it. Don't even try to act like you wouldn't, cause you know you would.

Not so sure about this. Graphics is eye-candy but when I want to play Daggerfall I prefer to fire up the real deal. Also, I doubt that Arena and Daggerfall would play properly with the modern engines. And what about the huge, empty wilderness? There would be no point in giving it a face-lift when there's still nothing in it...

True alot of space would be taken off of some of the more hugley ginormous maps like arena and daggerfall. but something must be given to be gotten. sacrifices must bee made to convert such a large game into one disc for a console or pc with a better engine. Give some to get some.

Then again, I would hate if this happened. Sure, Daggerfall could perhaps be reduced to only the city-states of Daggerfall, Wayrest and Sentinel and possibly a few others. Same with dungeons - all but the main quest dungeons and a few others could be removed. But that would take away too much from the scope of the game.
One thing that I loved about Daggerfall was the sense of Tamriel's huge size.
Also, considering how the quest system works in that game, it is more or less necessary to have hundreds/thousands of locations to visit, or it would quickly turn too repetitive.
There are just too many things that would have to be remodeled from scratch to make it feasible.

I see where you are coming from - but at the end of the day, why not have new adventures? The next Elder Scrolls game has the potential to have a better engine than Skyrim, with a better world, more quests, more adventures and more stuff to do - as well as a brand new story we haven't yet encountered. You have to remember, A LOT of money and time goes into making a game, and doing this with the old Elder Scrolls would take a very, very long time.

What would be the fun in starting a new game with an old über character? Unbalancing much?
