Bring back Belethor

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:27 pm

Alright so here's my dilemma:
I was going through the Companions quest line and did the whole turn into a werewolf thing because that would be awesome right? It was until the first transformation in Whiterun. I decided to go and kill some guards because I was a bad ass werewolf. Wellllll, turns out the shopkeeper Belethor was out for a midnight stroll at that time too and was standing next to a guard I was attacking...Belethor died. Now I cannot sell him my trinkets and gems and such despite his store being open and his assistant not letting me do anything.

So, I was wondering....is it at all possible to bring him back? Other than restarting? If not then is there a way to somehow get a new shopkeeper in there?

Thanks for your input!

According to the talk about skyrim from interviews prerelease, if you were to kill a merchant then another NPC should come claim the shop eventually and possibly be related to him... but thats just talk and might not be entirely true.

Sugar coated PR talk. This only applies to a few stores and if the next replacement also dies? Say goodbye to that store unless you are on PC and don't mind using the dev console.

Seeing as there is a conjuration spell that can ressurrect people as a zombie, I think it would have been awesome if they had a (high level) Restoration spell that allowed you to perma res an NPC that died. Dragon attacks are all too common and they can completely kill every NPC in a town if not dealt with swiftly.

PC users can use cheats to help them out. Console users can't. So having a resto spell that could res would be beneficial and also really awesome in terms of game play.

Way to assume he is on a PC.

But no, but there are numerous other shops in Skyrim.

That wasn't rude. You have a serious misconception of the word rude.

adjective, rud·er, rud·est.
1.
discourteous or impolite, especially in a deliberate way: a rude reply.
2.
without culture, learning, or refinement: rude, illiterate peasants.
3.
rough in manners or behavior; unmannerly; uncouth.
4.
rough, harsh, or ungentle: rude hands.
5.
roughly wrought, built, or formed; of a crude construction or kind: a rude cottage.

It was clearly impolite and in a deliberate way hence it was, albeit midly, rude. It doesn't have to be excessively rude to be rude. It seems you're the one with the misconception of the word rude.

Haha settle down guys. It's ok. No I am not on PC so that won't work for me unfortunately. I guess I will just have to go to another town and sell all my misc goods there...oh yeah and now the blacksmith in Riverwood died from a dragon. This is getting on my nerves and I feel like the shopkeepers should be immune to damage but that probably won't happen :(

But really thanks for the input everyone. I will just continue on without poor Belethor
