3rd person all the time, Im an archer and I find 3rd to be perfectly fine. I cant play TES or Fallout in 1st person, I just dont get that 1st person feeling off these games.
When I first started I hated third person. Then I got a horse and when I dismounted I was back in first person and that threw me off in fighting, so I kept it in third person and realized I could see my surroundings much better and I wasn't getting stuck by rocks.. But I like the first person from time to time.
I should probably add, the reason I like to use third person is that I simply can't stand to not see my character's feet. I like to know exactly where I am, and how much I can shimmy in any direction before I fall to a very sore death.
First Person around 85% of the time, swaps out to third when I know a fight will be a slaughter and to give my smoking Nord goddess a good glance once in a while.
I played Morrowind and Oblivion in first person...But with Skyrim I find it more satisfying to play in third person...I only go into first person to look for items and when Im jumping over or on things to get a more accurate feel...Although it seems like unless you have the crosshairs on the enemy you wont hit them but I've become pretty good at that
I play mainly in third person. Sometimes I switch to first person if I need to, but I'm mostly in third person. If I ever make an archer, then I'll be playing mostly first person on him, but only when in combat.
