The Guide

Been thinking about picking up the Collector's edition guide. It's pretty sweet and comes with the cool DL code for a digital map. Do you guys like to go with it or without it?

I'd rather go without it while playing the game, but strategy guides are pretty useful in the bathroom.

I have the Collectors Edition Guide.

Haven't looked at the digital map yet. Is it any good?

I would get it just to have a working map that isn't infuriatingly inefficient at telling me exactly where I am. That's all I want. A line pointing to another line with some landmarks between there. Of course, I fully expect a mod to fix this.

I'll definitely play the game blind for a long time, but I think at some point it'd be nice to have some form of reference to see what you've missed. I know, that's kind of cheap, but I'm thinking after 200 hours played, you'll want to get that little bit more out of the game. I imagine the damn thing is practically a tome anyway, so that'd be neat.

Why would I need a guide when the UESP exists?
