Use Fallout Music in video?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 6:13 pm

Hi, I'm wondering if it is legal for me to use the soundtrack music used in Fallout 3 in a published video. I mean the background music from the wastelands, or the battle themes, etc.

Who would I contact about this? The video is non-profit but will be published on a local TV channel. The music will only appear in the background, and would not be the feature of the video.

You would probably have to check further... but it is my understanding that the Fallout tracks from Fallout 1 & 2 (also used in FO:New Vegas) were released by their author (Mark Morgan) as free for non-commercial use.

I don't believe that anything originating in FO3 could be so used without permission; though they may (possibly) turn a blind eye, I'm pretty sure [a guess] that they cannot officially say yes.
