Warrior Tips

Hi

I'm currently playing pure mage, but once I've finished the mages guild quest I think I'm going to start a new game as a nord warrior. Throughout Oblivion and now Skyrim I always seem to hover around magic so thought it would make an interesting change of pace playing as a warrior. I'm thinking of focusing perks on one handed and block (will use a shield). Then perhaps dabbling with restoration, archery and heavy armour. Does this sound good? Should I be putting perk points into crafting (not something I can usually be bothered with but is it worth it?). Finally when levelling up should I be selecting health or stamina or 50:50?

Smithing is a must. With some nice smithing you can make some AMAZING armor. Enchanting is also a nice bonus. I love sword and shield, I never use a long range weapon. You could always take restoration out and just stock up on health potions. Restoration is more reliable though. Your choice. I also call in a Storm Atronach when the battle starts, just to help out.

1. Smithing is thy god.
2. Pick a single weapon type to invest perks in.
3. Seeing as you'll be a nord, I'd suggest a few points in alchemy so you have a decent healing method. Potions are easy to find, but you'll likely burn through them in a tough fight.
4. The left side of the heavy armor tree is more gimicky than useful.
5. Dual wielding is cool, but you're better off with a 2Her for the extra reach and block.
6. When you level, do 3 HP upgrades for every 2 stam
7. Smithing is thy god, and Deadric is better than dragon armor.
