Hi there. I recently bought my whiterun house (with all the furnishings). I have some bow rack thing but it doesn't work. And since there is no way to "carry" stuff like in oblivion, I am curious if there are any possesions like these at all. any help?

first i play on the 360 so the buttons may be diffrent.

to pick stuff up without putting it in your inventory you simply hold down the button you us to pick things up the hold it down again to drop it.

as for weapon and armoutr racks the house in Whiterun hsa none though i know for certain the one in Solitude does (i oun this home and have it fully furnished) it has one 2 slot weapon rack in the master bedroom, one l4 or so rack on the lowest floor, 2 maniquins for your armours on the lowest floor, as well as at least two of those display like wall racks on the lowest floor.

The house in Whiterun DOES have weapon racks (no armor displays though). I don't know how it works for bows, but for melee weapons, staves, and shields, simply equip the item in question and interact with the display you want. The only displays that accept shields (in my experience, aside from the mannequins) are the ones that have the crosses blades (the come pre-filled with two iron greatswords and an iron shield). The display will display what it is you can place there when you aim at it (dagger display, weapon display, shield, etc).
So, I'm not sure what you mean buy they don't work. Maybe it's just the bows?

The Whiterun house has a weapon rack and two weapon displays, one of which already has a shield and two greatswords on it. I've found that weapon displays and weapon racks don't work on 360, though that may just be a bug in my save.
