Slow Time Blocking Perk = Awesome.

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 12:01 am

That has got to be one of the most fun perks Ive experienced in this game so far. Feels like bullet time designed just right. If I move correctly, I can just barely move out of the way of the blow or just lose myself in the cinematic feel.

Also makes it more engaging by the fact Ive been playing on master difficulty since level 1 with the sword and board build and using Block with a shield in this game seems very balanced. Just fought a bandit chief at level 24 who was wearing a 2h elven sword and steel plate.

I could go toe to toe with him, but if I let my guard down(literally), he was able to two-shot me.

Me like.

I just restartet the game after playing a mage doing mage college and complete the game (plus alot of other side quest). Now im playing a warrior 1h + shield on master level, and man the game is so differend, far harder than using duel firebolt that staggers or some silly bow range attack.
I met quite a few npcs that 1-3 shot me with there 2h attacks, or yesterday i ran into a 3 giant spiders. One of them made a pounce attack on me and 1 shottet me, that was a crazy fight i dont think i would have won alone. But lucky me i had a quest npc with me to take some of the heat hiiii

Lvl 11 now and having a blasts, 1h + shield heavy armor + smithing, sure hope it get alittle easyer when i get higher block oO

I have like 89 blocking skill but I still don't have this perk because I worry it might become annoying. Does it not happen needlessly often so you feel like you are constantly slowed down or ? That is my concern. Don't want to ruin the game for myself with a perk.

Ellert save the game, and try using it for a few fights. You can always reload if you dont like it, at east that is my plan before i take it

My two-handed nord-warrior makes great use of the perk, too. Although I don't use it to move away from the attack, I simply bash and interrupt the powerattack.

You can also use the slow time shout for what I assume is the same effect.

It's a great perk! Just used it to awesome effect! Slo mo side stepped a guy only to come out of it with an instant decapitation! Looked amazing! One block- one hit kill! Awesome stuff! And your right. It's just enuff to slip pat them and get a hit combo in, really feels like your using skill and speed!

This sounds epic as all hell...I need to try it out!

*edit*
But I'm also concerned that there will be too much slo-mo action. Could anyone give me some more info about this? I'll definitely test it either way, but it's always nice to hear.

Its not too much slow motion. You have to be actively blocking when they do a power attack and it only lasts a couple of seconds and it is NOT the same as the shout. That slows you down as well. This one only slows them down and your still moving slightly faster.

There's currently a bug where the slow motion sometimes won't end and while the world is stuck in slow motion you can run around normally. It's pretty ridiculous, and it's why I'm not getting this perk anymore until they fix it.

Being able to run around the room killing everything, making a sandwich and watching the telly for 5 minutes while you wait for the slow mo to finally end and everyone's corpses to hit the ground became pretty fail pretty fast.

There is a glitch with this perk too, not quite sure how to recreate it though. Sometimes when it goes into the slow-motion, it stays like that until you change weapon or save the game. Makes for some pretty awesome situations, especially in the Civil War battles.

Nothing like charging through the enemies in slow-motion hacking them up! :D

Did this, ended up not liking it so I reloaded and got another perk. Should have thought of this myself I must admit :P but for those moments my brain decides to crash and burn there are people like you.
