Replaying Fallout 3... give me some fun things to do

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 7:51 pm

Im roleplaying a scavenger. I wander the wastes collecting junk to sell to the vendors of Megaton.

What shall I do for fun?

PC? I have some mods that are great for such a RP. Since that is what I generally do as well. I wonder if I have them tracked though....

Play Dead is Dead. Or limit yourself to how much you can carry. That means no one man army with 267 different weapons.

Some light reading. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1156755-ultimate-f3-playthrough/page__p__16940222#entry16940222

This.

If you can resist the temptation to take tons of ammo, weapons, and armor. The game become much more interesting and challenging (especially with mods). Dead is dead is also really fun.

Grab a Flamer and sing this:
"I want to set the Brotherhood on fire."

Yeah carrying a realistic carry amount is something I have done since Oblivion. Not sure about dead is dead though.. its too easy to die in this.

LOL but anyway, so no fast travel. It'll make your journeys back to megaton more interesting.

I recommend that since you're being a scavenger, you'll probably be stealing a lot and therefore have bad karma. And since you sell stuff you'll have a lot of money. So I highly recommend getting Jericho as a follower VERY early on. He's easy to get as Megaton is usually the first place you'll go to after Vault 101 so you won't have to wait until Raven Rock to get Fawkes. Jericho can hold an infinite amount of supplies for you, so you never have to worry about not having enough strength to carry your things. And lastly he's a good companion. He'll protect you if you don't have any weapons and though he may be a little moody it's easy to ignore. Overall he's a necessity for a scavenger like you.

I have a fun thing for you to do: Complete the Tenpenny Tower quest, but for the ghouls' side. Help Roy and open the door for him inside the hotel. Not only will you gain a Ghoul Mask (with it on, ghouls of any kind will no longer attack you and often fight for you) but the battles and killing everyone in the tower is EXTREMELY fun. You can take the Security Armor from the guards too, their armor is really good especially early in the game before you can get Power Armor. There are some other things as well to obtain after killing everyone, so I highly recommend it early on.
