Is it just me or is it [censored] up?

I'm trying to get the "tough as nails" achievement. By my count the only thing I have left is shipyard on security.
Yippy.

Only one little problem, security always loses.

This isn't me just complaining because I svck or something, when I say security loses every time I mean it. If I land in resistance I always win, 100% of the time. I play security, I lose.

Now the point of all this is I have a question. Is anyone else have any kind of balence issues with shipyard, or do I somehow have the luck of a brutish troll and get a bad team every single time I ever play?

Its really tough especially if you play solo (like me). What I like to do is take the underground passage to flank around the engineers building the main barricade/any snipers on the small platform. If my team is smart enough to push up constantly and use the side passage beside the main barricade, you can get a pretty good surround on the crane.

It's a tough mission, but it can be beaten security side. you just need a competent group who knows how to defend the objective sites, especially the missile controls themselves. They are so out in the open if you don't have someone there to mow down the waves of enemies coming at you it's almost impossible to make any headway on it. I usually play a light body so I can go around to the right of the main barricade, vault over the side barricade gap and end up flanking both from a rather unexpected angle.

its is unbalanced. The only way to win that map is to have a good team on security vs a crappy team on resistance. If the teams are even close to even security wont win.

Yes, Shipyard is an evil bastard of a map, but it's not impossible, I beat it once playing solo (as in, all bots) but only by the skin of my teeth (in over time). I'd imagine that Co-Op against bots would be somewhat possible, if there was a good engineer and a good operative.

Solo, all bots, on hard three times.

Best advice is to play engi and just take side route to crane. Set up a turrett, and repair crane. When you die, and it will happen frequently, just repeat. They cant reduce repairs you have made.

As for hacking the missle, first repair crane, capture post, then set up perimeter around controls.. Takes some luck with ignorant bots, but if timing is good, its surprisingly easy.

If your bots are ever pinned down, aid them until roadblock is killed/accomplished and they will join you.

I have beat it in Competition 5v5. 2 engineers 1 operative 1 soldier 1 medic.

The best thing to do is to set up the perimeter and make sure that you hide in one of the halls to the left or right. Your teammates can then cover the entrances and also send fire from the 2nd floor.

shipyard is far from impossible i have beat it several times as security, and even won my first time, playing solo on hard.
