Unable to put any weapon mod kit on the Weathered 10mm pisto

Great game. However, recently I went to the 188 and found a Gunrunner who was selling a laser scope weapon MOD kit for 10mm pistols. I bought my game from Gamestop and have the weathered 10mm pistol, the pre-order bonus from Gamestop. A great 10mm pistol. HOWEVER, the laser scope weapon mod kit causes a very strange graphics glitch. My Weathered 10mm pistol to disappear and yet I can still shoot it. Worse yet, when equipped there is a white haze on the screen and my graphics start to glitch out. If I put the laser scope mod kit... or any others it looks terrible! UNPLAYABLE!!!!!

I am not alone. I found a youtube video of another person having the same problem but with a different mod kit and in a different location. please fix. Here is a link to the video....

Its not a "bug" but more of an oversight. The Wetherd 10mm was not meant to have mods put on it, thus there are no models for the different version, resulting in the bug < ! > you see. It means missing mesh.

...and have the weathered 10mm pistol, the pre-order bonus from Gamestop. A great 10mm pistol. HOWEVER, the laser scope weapon mod kit causes a very strange graphics glitch. My Weathered 10mm pistol to disappear and yet I can still shoot it. Worse yet, when equipped there is a white haze on the screen and my graphics start to glitch out. If I put the laser scope mod kit... or any others it looks terrible! UNPLAYABLE!!!!!

It's not your computer, just some missing meshes. There is a temporary solution: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34794 at FNV Nexus. That Mod does not completely fix the problem but it will allow you to use the Weathered 10mm with any of the attached standard pistol mods. One problem with that Mod is that it uses the standard textures and the silencer does not have the correct texture. Interestingly, the standard 10mm also has an incorrect texture for the silencer. There are two settings that need to be changed (by applying a Mod) to fix the silencer in both 10mm pistols, I have done this myself but have not published the correction as a Mod.

Not true, the Weathered 10mm WAS designed for the standard mods but the meshes ARE missing. I've modded the meshes of the standard 10mm changed to the Weathered mesh names with the correct Weathered textures and the gun and mods work properly. No, I have not published this as a Mod. I am hoping that there will be a corrected package available sometime soon, otherwise I might publish this as a Mod.

Do you mean the other pre-order Packs? I only have the ClassicPack so I don't have the other unique weapons to look at. Nor do I much care because I won't ever have those packs. I don't mean this response to be blunt or rude.

If you mean other unique weapons in the game, I don't want to hunt down every unique weapon and I don't have a list of the unique weapons, maybe there's a list on the Wiki and maybe I'll go there and have a look. When and if I find and obtain a unique weapon I'll certainly have a look at its model. If I find one that has a problem I'll fix it, if I find one that can't be modded I think I might Mod it to enable the standard mods.

I haven't even gotten out of Goodsprings yet, I'm still collecting and applying some of the good Mods I find.

How do I know the standard pistol mods could be used for the Weathered 10mm? Run the GECK, open the model and you'll see the meshes listed. Open the ClassicPack BSA and you'll see the meshes are missing.

Just a technical note: One problem with modifying the pistol model is that it is from a master (an .esm). In particular replacing the textures on a master model using a texture set and alternate textures does not work. The only way to get a fully functional properly appearing model is to provide the meshes with the correct textures already in the mesh. I'm still hoping that there will be an official update of the ClassicPack, I really don't like having to use a Mod to fix the pistol.
