M'aiq the Liar tells you off

"So much easier to get around these days. Not like the old days. Too much walking. Of course, nothing stops M'aiq from walking when he wants."

M'aiq dismisses complaints over Oblivion's Fast Travel system which replaced the myriad transit systems found throughout Morrowind.

"M'aiq is glad he has a compass. Makes it easy to find things. Much better than wandering around like a fool."

Referring to the Quest Compass objections.

For those who haven't read it, or met him in Oblivion and such. There's lots more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mxx4Qf1-Xc on his latest sayings.

I for one like M'aiq because of his remarks against the nigh unpleasable and exceptionally whinny http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FanDumb associated with many a forum member here. Besides some of his comments are actually a 'take that us' moment for Bethesda for example reciting the infamous mudcrab banter from Oblivion or "M'aiq loves the people of Skyrim. Many interesting things they say to each other" as another line.

Besides fan boy tears are among the greatest of delicacies that serves as a irresistible pleasure on the internet.

Exactly, that's why I posted it in the Skyrim forum because many of his lines are applicable to the whiners now.

I always hated Miaq. He went from something mildly entertaining in Morrowind to the Devs way of being complete dikes to peoples leginimate concerns, peeves and criticisma about the game. Classy if you ask me.. :glare:

Actually its a really classy way of handling it, rather than being as equally as obnoxious as the whining little brats, Im pretty sure that is the point.

I guess if M'aiq really makes you that angry, in that light he is a complete success?

It's the tone. In Morrowind, M'aiq was quite funny. His Oblivion lines made him sound like a dike. In Skyrim, he's much more neutral again. Pretty relaxed, actually.

Class would have been had they came out and said "This is why we chose not to include these features, we're sorry if you do not approve, but this is how we feel is best to create a well balanced game." or some other response. Instead they chose to harass the player bases concerns through an in-game snide. It doesn't make me angry, it makes me annoyed that Beth would be as childish as some of their fans.
