I know they look exactly like they should be in TES lore....but I have tried all the sliders and still can't get a good looking female dunmer without making her look like an angry grandma...

No. but I have to say my three favorite followers thus far have all been Dumner females - The one mercenary in Whiterun, the Priestess at the Shrine of Azure, and the very cute young student at the Mage school. These three are, if not beautiful, not without appeal, and they tend to be chatty as well.
