i've never had any problems with it, you do get your gear taken away for a quest, but it gets returned to you, to be sure i would stash it in your house and take the bare minimum with you

Also i'd try it closer to level 10ish

My Pitt experience was totally glitch-free too, and one of the best and most memorable experiences I had in Fallout 3. I'm not sure you'd be able to get past the arena at level 10, though. I'd sure like to try - it was way too easy for such an epic setting at level 20+.

ABSO-[CENSORED]-LOOTELY!
Seriously though, it's probably the best, and definitely my personal favorite DLC. I've played it multiple times and never had any major problems.

I have never had a problem, but it is the second worst dlc in my opinion.

when i go to the Pitt i go without any clothes. All i take is a 10mm pistol and a few frags that way i can take all the stuff i want from the Pitt and not have to leave anything good behind.

The Pitt is fantastic. And I'm playing on the pre-goty, with no MZ. There is a big glitch in the Pitt for 360 for my version. So I'm forced to do the Pitt first, then Point Lookout, never the other way around.

I've never lost anything in the Pitt. Maybe my life once or twice... :cryvaultboy:
This is not a spoiler:

You will meet a woman named Medea there. If you stand facing the outside of her front door, there is a dead-end alley to your left. In one of the corners of this alley is an old fire hydrant. All my things go there. And when I go back to the Capital Wasteland and return, many weeks later to haul more stuff back to wherever I live, my things never disappear.

On the PS3 version (LOL WTF PS3 VERSION!?!??!?) I had one freeze during the Pitt and that's it. I played through it twice, the second time was gltich-free.

I didn't encounter any trouble while playing The Pitt. And I totally loved this add-on, with its harsh and joyless ambient... :) The moment when you lose your gear was a bit surprising to me, but it turned out to be great in the end as it spiced up the game. I absolutely recommend The Pitt B)

I agree. I love the feeling of only going into the harsh world of the Pitt with only a slave outfit and a concealed .32 pistol.
