Skyrim is so boring to explore

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 12:05 am

I found it amusing that threads titled "where can I find more iron ore?" or "THIS IS THE WORST GAME EVER" get more replies and detailed responses than ones like this, so I made a sensationalist headline to see if that would pull anyone in.

I made a previous thread about this, but didn't get any sort of response. Have you heard of this happening? Has it happened to you?

When reanimating corpses, they often tend to return to the point of initial reanimation when a fight starts. This makes my zombie completely useless when outside of that area.
Another thing I've encountered, which has only been partially addressed, is my zombies not moving to the next area. They'll follow me, and then turn to ash after entering the area, creating an unlootable ash pile.

I've found that if I wait a minute, I can loot the ash but that's besides the point.

I even restarted, thinking it may have been my save game, but that didn't work.

Yes, this has happened to me. I want to use my zombies as a meat shield, but i have to lead the way, so inevitably i end up taking the damage they SHOULD be taking for me. They're not very well coded. Of course, the idea behind a zombie is that you animate one of your killed enemies in battle rather than from your previous battles(hence the 1-4 minute lifespans), but still, they should be smarter than that!

I feel that Skyrim is superior to Oblivion in every way. Go figure.

Wow, an actual reply. I'm shocked and amazed.

Yeah, they seem pretty unintelligent..

Also, what I meant by my zombies not following me into the next area was when entering a door/cave etc. they enter with me, and then turn to ash after the loading screen.

Zombies in Skyrim are way less boring than Olivion zombies, you must just be rather dim.

Well, when noone even posts in a legitimate thread about a problem, what else am I supposed to do hm? I even bumped it and got [censored]ed out for "shamelessly" bumping my own thread. Can I ever win with a mindset such as that?

While this may be true, I really planned on being a necromancer using solely illusion and reanimation with an occasional bound sword.
Hey, at least I'm getting some replies, this is fantastic news, gents.

I'm sure this will quickly close my already doomed thread, but you're obviously just mad that you were pulled into a thread that really had nothing going for it other than the title.

Point proven, and thanks to those that actually replied.

@hobosrcool

Will do.

I dont understand how your problems with zombie AI are relevant to finding the world boring to explore. If it was difficult to explore because of your problem that would make more sense.
Anyway Skyrim is a lot better to explore in as opposed to oblivion where practically every area was the same apart from textures.

Guys, just be quiet. The guy has a legit question, and you should answer and let it die rather than spam and keep it near the top.

@OP, they probably just dissolve because their lifespan is very short already. I dont know if loading times count towards day progression, but if they do, then they might be running out of time as the next area loads, and then dissolving when they can(when they reach the other side.)

That's a good thought, but that's not the case in my situation. They dissolve no matter how much time they have left. 30 seconds or 3 minutes it's the same.

I appreciate your actual responses though. It's still amusing that THIS was the thread I got some answers in.

Ahaha! Yes!
I was just about to post about how surprised I was no one had yet ignored much of the actual post and commented with "It is not boring!" Then right near the end, bam! It really happened
