Should i buy this game? ( 28 June 2011)

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 3:51 pm

Hey!

im going to trade in some games and im want to buy Crysis 2 (PS3). i watched some vid on Youtube and thought it was great but when i came here to the forums i heard all the bad things about this game. my biggest concern is that nobody is playing this game,i mean in the MP.... i dont want a game there i have to wait 30 minutes to find a half full game. so my question is, does many people play this game or is it dead. I live in Sweden, so i think i play in the EU region.

Btw. i saw a thread there somebody sayed that Crytek were going to give ous a patch today, does anyone have any info about the patch?

Cheers

all info on the patch is in this thread:

connections in this game all depend on your ISP really. i haven't waited longer than about a minute to get into a lobby, but it normally takes me about 10 - 15 seconds recently. only real problem for me with the multiplayer is that every mode other than team instant action has no-one playing once it gets late (GMT). i have never had a problem finding a TIA game but i looked for an instant action game last night at around 12 and couldn't find one. even crash site was a bit few and far between..... but you can normally get a lobby in most modes at peak times. take that into consideration when buying this game, but i'd recommend it.

despite this game's flaws (no game's perfect), it's still awesome!!

Still agree with what Djent said.
Also recently after the patch, waiting time has been greatly reduced from few minutes to few seconds.
You should try crysis and if you dont like it, you could always resell it.
Unless you got addicted to it..

When you join a random lobby most of the people just care about themselves (well, they help you by activating some maximum radar etc.). I think Crysis 2 is less team-based than Battlefield unless you play with a bunch of friends in a squad and communicate.

yeah a lot of games i get feels like randoms playing with randoms, i reckon if you played with a full team and communicated this game would be even better!!! (although i suppose communication in any game helps ahaha)

If you buy the game for the single player then it's alot of fun. If you buy it for the multiplayer I honestly dont think you should buy it because there isnt alot of people playing this game. The multiplayer is fun but if there isnt many people playing the game then there's no point buying it just for the multiplayer. From what I've played so far it's not a team based game. I played a match where on my kill cam I saw one of my team mates just walking behind my nemisis. He shouldve killed my nemisis to stop him from killing me but I think he wanted to stealth kill him or something I dont know but it's every man for himself on here. The multiplayer plays like medal of honor, control and movement wise. It's maps have a cod feel to it. BC2 is a different beast though.

Because everyone is playing BLOPS, or doesn't want variety or challenge.

There's too many shooters on the market too, so it is a very wide gap.

If you want to support 3 Turkish brothers like I did, I highly suggest you buy this game ASAP! Go for the Nano Edition even if it's pretty expensive by now. By owning the Nano Edition you can show the world that you truly are a big Crysis 2/Crytek fan, just like me!

To me this game was a good buy..well trade-in for..it has its issues..but after the patches and a few network fixes the game has been better..as someone said the best time to play online is at peak hours right now! but the online community seems to be growing. you won't be disappointed.
