Where are the players?

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 8:54 pm

I just bought this game recently, almost finished the campaign mode and im still trying to get the hang of the multiplayer. But there's one thing I've noticed that's irritating me. Most of the time (like 98% of the time) I cant find anyone in any other game modes apart from team deathmatch or free for all. I go into a lobby and I'm waiting forever. I played Assault only once, Crash Site once and I cant get into the other modes. While I was waiting I was thinking maybe there are not many players playing this game? Is this a common problem? or is this something that needs patching? I just need to know because if it is, I'm going to have to sell it after I've clocked the game.

Actually there's a lot of players playing Crysis, takes me few minutes to get in. How bout your region in your console settings? "For PS3, this should mean that your PSN account was created with correct locale/region specified. Disc region is not a factor in server searching."

Just about everybodys gone now, you can still find TIA and IA games most of the time crash site is normally fairly active as well but you'll see the same players over and over again just forget about the other modes.

Well one guy is saying it might be a problem on my side and you're saying there's not much people playing this anymore. I tried again to get into the other modes, after 11 tries I eventually got in at the end of the game (Assault mode). When we got back into the lobby everyone left the game lol. I'm suprised because even games like medal of honor still have full matches going on (no offence to moh). I just gave up. And also, what's up with the sound? when I sometimes join a game, the sound just goes off. You can feel your controller shake and and bits of sound but thats it. It's really frustrating. It's sad because I was beginning to enjoy the game. But with no players I wouldnt buy the DLC for it. It's the same issue I had with Homefront before I sold that off. I guess I should just wait for MW3 or Battlefield 3.

Bought this on release and played up until PSN went down. In all the time I played I could only find TIA, IA or crash site games. I managed to find one assault game and that took me a good 30 minutes of trying. After a few weeks I started bumping into the same people over and over. I guess people are bored of it and have moved on, shame really because this is a good game.

I think the problem why alot of people (beginners and casual) are losing interest is there's too much to learn. Players have a huge skill set and weapon attatchments at their disposal, it becomes too complicated when applying them in a competitive match (I'm not talking about veterans and pros). It becomes frustrating especially playing against veterans of the game who know how everything works. I still stick in the game but when I've died 6 times in a row against a higher rank, I just camp out in a corner just hoping they wont find me. Not because I've given up but because I've tried everything I can to take them down so I'll just camp even though it's hard to camp in this game. Yes, I use the armour when I shoot, I go into stealth if I'm walking over open terrain but I'm still taken out by the guy crawling behind me. When I go take someone down there's always another whos hiding in stealth to take me out. I guess thats how the game works. I'm just going to try ranking up to rank 28 to play classic mode without the nano suit. If it's good I'll stick with it but if I cant find a game (lol) then I'm going to trade it in. I hope the developers read whats posted in the forum so they can fix issues and address concerns on a personal level ie posting a reply that they're reading these posts and have them to express their opinions. When Homefront had their problems, I have to give kudos to the developers KAOS studios (closed down now) because they would reply to any post that raised concerns about the game. Any questions I asked them they replied as long it was a good question.

The biggest turn off for people when i've talked to them ingame is the LAG.

Yeah there's definitley lag in this game but not as terrible as bad company 2 (I'm a veteran player on that game). Hit detection seems pretty off which is due to the lag unless you were the host with green bars. I've seen a few final kill cams where the player still takes his opponent down even though his iron sights isnt aimed at him. I think there's a framerate issue too that I noticed. The game stumbles below 30 fps when theres alot going on. It svcks because I get caught cold by players in stealth. Frustrating. I wish I knew about all these issues before I bought the game. I'll just have to plug away to see how it goes.
