TOO realistic?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 8:58 am

Because the world is so realistic, and like 90% of the npc's are human, it sometimes feels a bit... odd when I come across one of the beast races or magic. Just me?

It's too realistic if you generously feel bad when killing someone. That's the point I fear games will achieve.

I've only seen two Argonian NPCs and a couple of Khajiit.

I haven't experienced this, but then I'm playing an argonian mage. :)

Too close to home, you mean. It is the land of men after all. The next Elder Scrolls should feel more alien. Like Black Marsh.

Uh, no, not in my mind. I think it feels perfect, a very believable fantasy world, like Middle Earth. Not over the top and filled with people wearing funny things on their face, like Star Trek (which I love, but it's a different thing altogether).

I've seen about 5 or so argonians, they were all charging at me with dagger and sword wearing black all with letters from the DB wanting me dead :( and a sixth one that was just called Argonian with hellish lightinning spells that killed me instantly.

Some people actually complain about there being only few elf and beast race representatives. I like it, though. Why would there be other people than the native Nords and intrusive Imperials when it's so cold and the political situation is what it is? It's well explained why so few, say, Dark Elves, Argonians and Khajiit are there. They're not that liked. And it's a long trip there. And why even be there because life svcks out there?

I haven't had any issues with there being too many members of man-races. I haven't thought about it that way at all. I feel the blend is perfect as it is.

Well the game is set in a civil war between Nords (human-like) and Imperials (human-like). I do wish they added more Khajiits, but oh well.

I think it's working nicely. Although, it would've been great to see a few more Argonians and Khajiit. T'vash gets lonely y'see.

It's not earth, so it is realistic to see beast races in Nirn (i think thats the planet name).
I find it a little unrealistic to find Argonians though. Why would they even settle in the cold Skyrim? :/

That's a Khajiit actually, hehe.

But if you know what you're doing, you can create one badass looking lizard.

The NPCs don't do them justice :P
