Everything about "Frank Sinatra"

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:06 am

If youve seen some of the things in new vegas like ring-a-ding-ding or come fly with me and many other things you know is most of the stuff is based off Sinatra. If you haven't notice this, then please tell me your tohughts on this. Just tell me what ya think about this.

Do you see the hats, the clothes and also do you hear the music. Do you see the group of kings trying to act as if they were Elvis Presley. All this stuff just came to my mind as i was playing this game.

I'm fairly sure most people know who Frank Sinatra is.

Yeah.., doesn't he rank up there with Scooby Doo, the Invention of fire, and pie?

A few more Frankisms -cuz the next time you see this space, they could very well be Andyisms.

“I'm for whatever gets you through the night.”

“Hell hath no fury like a hustler with a literary agent.”

“Don't get even, get mad.”

“You treat a lady like a dame, and a dame like a lady.”

“I like intelligent women. When you go out, it shouldn't be a staring contest.”

“I drink to the confusion of our enemies”

“Orange is the happiest color.”

“I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.”

“Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy.”

“You gotta love livin', baby, 'cause dyin' is a pain in the ass.”

“[censored] your hat - angles are attitudes.”

“Basically, I'm for anything that gets you through the night - be it prayer, tranquilizers or a bottle of Jack Daniels.”

“I am a thing of beauty.”

Frank Sinatra was a punk! To start, he avoided the draft in WWII by claiming he had a fear of crowds (quite funny considering what his profession was!) He then surrounded himself with hoods who (well documented) beat up fans that got to close to his almighty (look up the story about the guy at a hotel in Vegas who made the mistake of asking Frank for his autograph...Frank had his mafia goons beat the poor guy to a pulp.)

The guy was pretty much a bully and coward. I will admit his music is fantastic however.

Dean Martin was another story altogether...Volunteered for the war. Treated his friends great. Kept Jerry in line. Had a great voice!

It's out of print now, but I recommend Will Friedman's excellent book "Sinatra! The Song is You: A Singer's Art" for an in-depth look at Sinatra's unique interpretive gift. It focuses on the artist, not the man, and is good reading if you can find a copy.

Yes, he was. So he was affiliated with Sinatra at some point in his career. But he had a blooming solo career before that and was teamed with Jerry Lewis before he ever met Frank Sinatra. Sinatra was cool, but Dino was legendary 'cool'. People can (and would) say they knew of Dean Martin (and Sammy Davis jr.) well before the formation of the 60's era Rat Pack - the post Bogart version.
