What is difference between a paladin & templar in the elder scrolls series?

I don't know if my character is considered a paladin or a templar. She has a itch to steal ONLY books which may negate her being a paladin.

Gear: heavy armor, shield, mace
Magic: restoration
Inspired by: St. Alessia
Joined: Imperial Legion.

Loyal to the imperial in the highest degree.

What kind of character would this be? A paladin? A templar?

Whatever you want it to be? It's your character. But yes in the traditional sense you can't be a Paladin if you're committing crimes by stealing books.

A fallen paladin.

A Templar has to do with the Crusades of long ago. So unless you're going around massacring non-believers in the name of the Lord, then you're likely not a Templar.

Here's a theory.

TEMPLAR
A knight dedicated to enforcing the beliefs of a religeous order. The Divine Crusader from KOTN is a good example of this. Prehaps you, if you were to roleplay a Templar would be hunting the Thalmor for banning the worship of Talos.

PALADIN
A knight truly dedicated to fighting evil and defending the innocent. roleplaying a Paladin would mean hunting a slaying Dragons and Daedra.

Hope this helps you.

There is no classes here ... You are what you are ... names of classes are only used in other RPGs and MMORPGs where you don't have much freedom ... You are a free person with certain skills and characteristics ...
